Heres the story: I'm playing my brand spanking new level 1 wizard and I get killed by a cat of some sort. I click on respawn and as my guy is just getting up, the cat hits me again and kills me. I still suffered the respawn penalty and my guy is dead again... right next to the cat, so I leave the game and upon returning I'm alive again. I have also had this happen to my bard. In the haddon mirk crypts I was slain and when I respawned I was hit with fear and my got up and ran into a corner.
This is a pretty annoying bug and I'm not in the mood for going to the bug report webpage. I think theres a good 2 or 3 seconds after you click respawn where your guy can still be targeted before you really respawn and appear at your bind point.

I've had similar things happen to me. I'd respawn and actually get attacked while respawning, luckily I never died. I'm not entirely sure if it is lag related since I have played on other servers that lagged horribly and yet never encountered this bug. It's probably tied into an issue with custom respawn script for NS4, since pretty much everything is custom. 

This has allready been reported as a bug @ the bug tracker (http://www.nsrealm.com/bugs)

One thing that can help is to wait 20 - 30 seconds before hitting that respawn button. This will give the mob a chance to lose interest, drop out of combat mode, and walk away. The problem seems to be worse when the server database is sluggish because of a major boss-fight going on elsewhere in the server.
