Creatures behaving strangly?

Post by Metis »

Curious a couple times I possesed an npc, mainly caster types and tried them out using their own abilities. I knew the AI wasnt great but just terrible for casting types, a couple of you thought a DM was giving it super powers :o just someone a little smarter behind the drivers seat.

So next time an npc suddenly is acting intelligently you know why

Can you take control of my PC's and make them act intelligently once in a while? :P

I'm noticing high level creatures making a lot more Called Shot and Improved Knockdown attempts lately. This a result of LinuxPup's updates, or are you just pickin' on me? :P

Heh if they wanted to pick on ya they'd turn the ai on all creatures up to the max :) Make any mage enemies start acting better than us in pvp :)

It's pretty sweet really. Makes things a lot more exciting that's for sure. Heck one boss actually disarmed both my first wpns and then all 3 of my backups lol. That was disconcerting and entertaining in equal measure :D.

Makes for more challenge rather than the droll; grease the floor, kill the casters, mob the main boss routine that is used in most boss zones.

Just a note its not to make things bad, I think the staff thinks the same as players the most fun is when its a challange, granted it cant be perfect but I have so much fun going into a fight not sure what the AI will do, the same hack n slash can get old and this adds more excitement :D

Hope you are all enjoying Linux's latest devious brilliant work

We do appreciate the work. I've been on this server for over a year, with no sign of boredom, and I think the longevity of NS can be attributed in part to tweaks like this - just when I've got an area figured out, new twists arise.

Thanks, Linux.

Yeah, I second that. I wasn't meaning to come across negatively at all. Dwarves are spicier when they can knock me down. ;)

This server never ceases to amaze me...I am all for adding some challenge and extra "what if"'s to the equasion. Keep up the good work, all of you. It is GREATLY appreciated. :D :D :D
