Neg Plane status?

is it still buggy? is there any progress on fixing it?

I haven't done much work on it... fixed a bug with the Death Giants but I don't' see how it could fix the crashing (but who knows).... I suppose if you give everyone on the server fair warning to relog and save their characters, and if its ok with the DMs, you could go there and try it out. The problem is, I can never reproduce the crashing (or the polymorph crashing) offline, so its really hard for me to test without inconveniencing people.

If it does still crash, please don't go there anymore until further warning, and report here that its still unstable.

Would it help to have an announced test period? It's a great area, and a shame we can't use it. I'd be willing to be a guinea pig (although I haven't lasted long there woithout someone who knew what they were doing

well we spent about 2 hours there this morning on several occasions we had multiple enemy monsters fighting us with tons of effects and spells ect going off with no crash i know a DM was at least watching having several shouts from the mobs there but i dont think we helped much in finding the cause of the crash however we did not engage the boss perhaps he has something to do with it IDK

however we did basicly skip the first map and i recall a crash not too long ago where someone went to neg by mistake on the way to HoD so perhaps the crash is related to the first map id suggest taking a close look and running some dev server tests on the first map as well

as for my impressions of neg plane its a fun place a wide diversity of mobs to keep you on your toes the scenery was nice ( for a hellish place ) tho i was somewhat disappointed in the boss map having flashbacks of sunken isle but i understand that we are limited by the game itself and how maps are made.

i hope the devs can fix the somewhat random server crash associated with this plane as it has a good variety of items and is a fun place to go to level especaly since most mobs are CR36 the xp was better than most other planes.

It seems that any of the areas in neg plane have caused crashing.... I know at least the first area and the boss area have done it which leads me to think that its based on at least one creature. Its good hasn't crashed in 2 hours though... that's a decent amount of time for no crashes. Let me know if you do cause one there.

Has anyone been there recently? If so, any crashes? Also, how long were you there?

AFAIK a team went there that same day for 5 hours with no crashes and the next day another expedition went for 3 or 4 hours agian with no problems.

this however doesent mean the problem is gone and i would advise shout notices for any future partys going there.

Agreed.... that's good to hear though. Feel free to visit there for now, but do give the server some notice that you're going in there first. If neg plane doesn't give any more crashes for the next two weeks or so I'd call it good.
