I personaly don have alot of problems with PVP on NS4, brings a whole new dimension to the game
the only real problem i have is death penalties for planar and plane touched
its not a huge incentive to defend ur factions city gates against impossible invaders
or even to get mixed up in a fight with impossible PC's
i realise that planar and plane touched do get extra bonuses to stats such as +2 wis and +2 char for Assimars
but im not entirely sure the extra bonuses are worth the repidly expanding xp loss you recieve when dying to another player character
all im really saying is, if i had a choice of letting a pc go who i think could have a chance at killin me, or attacking that pc i would opt to let the pc go without a fight because of the death penalties for these subraces
xp isnt that easy to get and i dont have much time to play anymore so i prefer to hang onto whatever xp i can accumulate in 1 day of playing
anyone else have similar concerns?
also as an afterthought i wouldnt be so opposed to being killed by impossible players i have no chance of defending myself against if there was no death penalty for these subraces

Penalty will still be on death, but not trigger or be reduced for PvP.
Think more in character terms rather than worrying about metagame things and then you can have some fun.
An Aasimar Pali generally will defend his turf against any opponent no matter the odds (most Palis are lawful-stupid), while a Githzerai rogue would be more apt to see what kind of skill the invaders have and whether it's in his interest of survival to fade into the background.

I have been experimenting with various races to see the effects of ECLs versus the bonuses. Right now it seems that the bonuses are less useful when you are low level, but also don't cost you as much in terms of experience. Where they will probably really shine are at the upper levels where you'll be exposed to tons of elemental damage (and immunities are thus much more valuable) and where attribute bonuses will really matter for bonus spells and such. Because the stat bonuses are in green though, I wonder if they count towards things where you need a minimum base state - say for the self-concealment feat for example. Will a 30 Dex, including a +2 subrace bonus do it for you?
for planar and plane touched subraces atm you do lose xp if a player kills you
if your ressed fully though with ressurection and not raise dead there is no penalty but for raise dead there is
