Possible Exploit?

There are some pc's (lvl 30 +) on prime who are of the opinion that they can stand (indefinitely) inside the "safe area" at the Avendell gate, then when they see a lowbie coming or going, run out, pk them with a bow and run back into the safe area and not expect to get attacked. Then repeating this several times on various lowbie pc's.

To me that's just another form of spawn camping. But we need to have a word from the DM's on this type of attack pattern please.

tell the lowbies to use the portal out of avendell...then stand there and camp the campers

Yes your right there are 2 exits for lowbies out of Avendell, right until they want to go to NS, Falme or any other area on that side, or try to use the Avendell Dragon. But then again I guess there are other dragons they could use, Beryn, Western Slopes, the Plains, or run to Melincia from Darkforest, down to Windale take the boat to the Blackhills and get to NS and other areas that way.

Coolers. Good to know that we can make sport of newbies trying to get to or from Avendell via the crossing. All we need do is take 2 steps out of the safe zone, zap em and take 2 steps backwards and there is nothing anyone can do so long as it's within the rules (3 pk, etc.) because "we're legal".

Is that correct? (just making sure because I too may wish to partake in this activity one day)

Pretty much.

Also remember they will leave that area at some point, and then their pain and suffering will begin in full.
