This game is too complicated.

Post by Ade »

By looking at the numbers, there's no way my current character build will ever be good enough to take on the people who PKed me at lower levels.

The level of character customization on this game is so great that it would take me years to catch up on knowledge and actually understand how to beat my opponents. This game is designed so that you can't go back and rework you character's stats, instead you get to start all over.

For those of us who want a game to become fun and "winnable" before the 5,000 hour mark, this isn't acceptable. Some of us have jobs.

If I can't win at a video game without devoting my entire life to it, and without studying the game more than I must study for school, then it's not worth it. I have real life obligations, and I regret thinking that I could ever enjoy a game of this nature.

I just can't do it anymore. I'm tired of getting pounded into the ground.

This server was probably great when it first began, but now it won't let "new people in." Everyone here is too experienced, and the game is too old for new players to get a foot in the door.

I'm uninstalling NWN and never touching another D&D game ever. It would be easier for me to get my PhD than to understand everything about this game.

To the rest of you who continue to play this game, I suggest you take a look at your lives and see how much this ficticious knowledge has cost you.

Peace out.
Vendetta.

Oh man 2 guys in 1 day ??

Well im sorry to see you go also. I think the build you chose however as your 1st character on this server was always going to make it hard. You have a 31 Paladin corect? tough at the best of times - let alone when trying to learn the machinations of a new server.

My Advice is to always make a cleric with a decent implode DC when starting out a new server + the buffs get your AB up there as well.

You also mention poundings and i know who you mean - ive had my own run in with them which cost me XP as they stood there while i was bigbied and all the wolves they had dragged to me killed me :-( oh and no i dont have a screen shot because i tried to log out to save myself the XP. So from now on i see one of you coming i log :-) cause i cant trust any of you to play fair.

But on a serious note , we have a guild with like 75% of the player base it would seem so they stay well within rules like the 3pk thing by getting each of them to kill you 3 times - if there is 6 of them thats 18 pk's and you may also have lost your wpn to disarm, adding further to your new player woes.

Im not complaining about the rules either BTW - so far im up its Friar Tuck 3 MD 1 what i am suggesting is that you guys could maybe, just maybe leave the obviously new guys alone for a month or two to get settled in and go POUND your old enemies for a bit longer, before heading after the fresh meat ??? otherwise i hope you guys like playing with yourselves a lot because if new blood keeps leaving you shall end up with a player list with nothing but M.D tags - perhaps thats what you want ? in that case carry on picking on the noobs.
