That's not entirely true because by the time you're using scrolls you've already fired off the 40 spells you had memorized and got plenty of xp to offset the difference... and if you're smart and target your spells for optimal impact you could likely get through to the next rest without using scrolls.

depends on how long the rest periods are. if they are short then the fighters will still complain. if they are long then the mages will complain

And fighters don't really need rest except to get rid of poison damage, they can use heal ktis ;)

no the fighters will complain if the rest periods are too short cuz then the mages won't be handicapped enough. if the rest periods are long enoug that the fighters won't complain, then the mages will complain instead.
