Terrifying Rage

Post by Daedalus »

I was just wondering whether Terrifying Rage is useful on this server, particularly in the epic areas and planes.

At later levels you can get Intimidate really high (like high 40s) and i think it can be stopped by Immunity to Paralysis, Fear and Mind Spells (not sure).

If anyone is experienced in this field i was wondering if you could lend my your words of wisdom on the subject. This feat would be a major component of the build i am creating.

Thnx

While I have not made a Barbarian, I have seen one with Terrifying Rage able to put the "fear" effect on a Skull Harvester. Not sure if it did anything though, we were too busy trying to kill it.

dont you have to be at a higher level than the enemy for them to be feared? or else they just get -ab and saves or something like that

Yes, that is true. I think in the situation I was talking about, the Barbarian was higher level than the Skull Harvester. Regardless, the "fear" status did appear on the little bugger, indicating a successful Rage attempt.

It is if they are between your hit die and twice your hit die that they get -2ab etc. But Barbarians get a hit die of 12 per level so would that be pretty hard to beat?

Anyways anyone else opinion?

A friend of mine has played a Terrifying barbarian. From what I can remember, the only monsters to get affected are from either Amazons and below, or FD mobs and below.

Also, immune to mind affects, immune to paralysis (freedom of movement) cancel the effects.

nice to have in pvp thou, pretty much in defending a relic. But remember you need to be pure bbn or near pure atleast to have the HD on fear working

My Terrifying barbarian gets the Ragnarshome Dwarves sometimes ESF Initimidate. But no effect on any other planar minions. Really helpful in pvp though

Yes it is helpfull cause even if you are not high enough to Fear them, you still drop some of their stats down which is always handy.
