I know its just bad luck but.....
I have had the MA Mephit job reset on me 3 times with my latest toon :(

First one was my bad and I probably deserved it I got a bit overconfident and captured while a quast wasn't far enough away from my target. he moved in the time it took to activate the item. I had 7 collected at that point and reset to 0.

Second one I captured a Fire Mephit who was to close to a hiding pygmy. Gr, thats not nice! I had 6 collected at that point and reset to 0.

Third on I captured a clear target and Lag jumped a Quast from the edge of the map into the capture zone. had 5 before that reset to 0.

with my first MA guy I must have got real lucky cause I did the quest in less that 24 real minutes (i game night) and was up to the last quest by level 5, with my last guy I had done all the quests by level 8, this time I am level 7 and have been hunting mephits sporadically (quest 2) for a week. I am not surprised many people Ignore the jobs until they are much higher level and can walk them after a few runs through these quests the time restriction on when a quest can be done is really getting to me as I can only play for about an hour at a time and losing half that time to quest restrictions is really hurting me :(

On the plus side the quests themselves are proving to remain a challenge even with an improved build and some prior knowledge.

everyone whos done the MA jobs hates that task with a passion it is by far the most irritating task of both MA jobs. ive found that the sea caves map ( the 3 entrance one) is the best place to hunt these mephits by popping in and out of the cave entrances you reset the spawn mutiple times and will eventualy get the right ones to appear. DO NOT kill the undesired mephits if you leave them the maps spawn timer isnt set off so when popping right back onto the map the undesired mephits are changed to another type. another tip that may or maynot be a unintended result is magma and fire mephits have summons that summons other mephits of the summoning ones type these summons can be captured be shure that you capture the summons first then the summoner mephit that way you get 2 mephits for the price of one.

hope this helps all you PM fans lol

I got it done in a similar time frame with my other to MA guys...

however last night I got to 9 and it reset AGAIN!

I now believe each reset could have been caused by a cluster of Mephets which were all of a desired type but some logic test fails if they are too close to your target...

I know those tricks, I have used them in the past (although the map reset trick was a new one and will help even more). However the last guy took several RL days and many in game weeks to complete the quest with a total of around 45 mephets captured before the task was completed.

Can I respectfully point out to the designers of this quest that Lag can can relocate objects and spoil even the most carefully laid plans and suggest that instead of a complete quest reset perhaps a release 1 or 2 mephets might be a less severe punishment for a miss-timed capture.

I need Chase to give me a +1 stick to beat you with. Remember the other night when it took me 3 hours? LOL. That job is the most frustrating sometimes, but as mentioned before I am really happy to at least have jobs and then very happy that our jobs produce useful results. So no real complaining here. :D
