Spell Resistance

Sometimes someone will cast a spell on me and it'll say that I successfully resisted it, but right after that it'll say something like "The creature's might has overcome your spell resistance" or something like that... what causes that?

As I recall, the toolset only allows a limited caster level for monsters which, apparently was low. It was modified to allow for higher caster levels. Before, you could resist just about everything with mediocre spell resistance.
