i like the way turn undead works: dealing damage and knocking down undead. but so far i haven't gotten turn to work more than once against the same undead critter ever. i know in PnP its not supposed to be spammable but it has a drastically different effect that IMO should effect the same creature multiple times. is this a bug or intentional, and if intentional could someone explain the rationale behind it?

I love the new effect of knockdown and knockback (or maybe thats just me lagging) but compared to standard turn undead its not so flash.
One round knockdown does not allow a cleric or his party much time to dispatch any of the undead before they are back on their feet. Normally those undead would be scampering around for a while allowing the party to thump a few over the head.
The divine damage is fairly low considering that the undead take that damage would be the same ones that normally you would destroy outright.

My suggestion for the knockdown effect would be to make it 1d10 rounds
instead of 1 round. That way, some of the undead may jump up right away, others may be down for the count.
I would also suggest that the divine damage be higher, somewhere in the region 1d6 per caster level. It may seem like a lot but the undead you can damage are the same ones that used to be destroyed outright.

Unless all of this was done to comply with 3.n5rf Edition Rules and thats the way its staying in which case my cleric will weep and curse God.... and then repent so he can cast spells the next day. :wink:
