factions question...

Post by Coru »

This might seem a silly question but, can you create characters in different factions, and if so wouldn't this lead to the abuse of people spying on other factions using random newb characters?

I was wondering the same thing. Not sure how you would control that though.

They can limit a cd-key to a single faction. I dislike the idea though. I want to play a few different factions... not to spy, but because each faction is like a separate game.

i doubt their gonna limit people to one faction... that would kinda suck
Secret to finding the way into the dwarves or the shadow legion or NC or even MA is to start a char there and work your way out.
after all, DD said this a while back
"O cruel fate, floating through the void of space like gravity's plaything. O to be thusly boned. Ask not for whom the bone bones, it bones for thee."

If they were to do it it'd be done via CD-Key. So making a new account wouldn't work.

hmm - true CD-Key would be the way to go. You can script that into a mod though?

Yup. You can just boot the char if they try to make a char in a diff faction.

i really hope this does not happen as DV is right, each faction is its own game. I really dont think spying will be a problem.

I think the solution is to force players to delete their old chars if they want to try a new faction

why? I dont see the big problem.

some days i have a bad day at work i wanna be a dwarf with a big axe and just click and slay.

other days i feel good and wanna be a druid and work casting and planning.

other times im feeling realy good and helpfull i wanna be a bard buffing and helping other players.

then comes the day im feeling high and mighty and wanna be a palidin smoting evil.

whats wrong with being able to play them all?

. . . and limiting things would be unfair to scitzophrenics and other multiple-personality challenged folks as well . . .

hey i resemble that!!!!

i actually plan to have at least one char in each faction if not more for the fact to be able to talk to all of my ns friends but to experience everything ns4 has to offer.

heh - I will probably be in a couple different factions as well just to figure stuff out. I never did like to feel limited by rules and such.
