Shadow Dancer Nerf?

First, I must say I'm having tons of fun with NS4 beta right now; never have I played in such a vast detailed PW before

.

Second, I'm aware that quite a few feats/spells/builds have been nerfed or changed, which is fine with me. Among these rumors is that the SD has been altered/nerfed to some extent, probably something to do with HiPS (duh). Can anyone confirm or deny this? I just want to be aware of what I'm jumping into here...

I would hope so...HiPs is the most exploited ability in NWN.

(I, of course, mean the people going off soloing something much stronger then them with crappy spot/listen skills and just hitting the attack/stop attack/hide/attack/stop attack/hide over and over again till monster is dead and repeating over and over, it makes me sick)

This hasnt been nerfed to my knowledge i can solo alot more thigns now buy sneak attacking them, hiding, sneaking again... which is the point of the class it should be nerfed

At least one shouldnt get hips on lvl 1. It should be made you have to take several levels (10? - best thing ater all) of SD to gain hips.

its lame but thats how it was meant to be. i think its friggin cool that you can like phase in and out, thats how i would do it if i were some kinda shadow monster thing....

there are enough ways to defeat a rogue with Hips, you just have to know how

well, it sucks that you only need 1 sd lvl for HiPS :/

is there a way to scale it's effectiveness?

like 1 lvl of SD, HiPS has 20% chance of re-hiding you.

higher lvl SDs get higher success rate (with 10 SD lvls being 100% success)

Well I do beleive if you deleted your fighter and made a character that has high wis and maxxed out spot and listen he would be worthless at everything pretty much but would be able to see the shadowdancer!

you can not attack then go out of combat hide, attack then repeat that
i think it works fine

If it is that way, then just remove shadowdancer from the game.

What's the point of HiPS if you can't HiPS? A decoration perhaps?

I would leave HiPS alone. The most I would do is make it so that once you use HiPS it takes 1 round to take effect.
