I don't use a router -- my computer is hooked up straight to my cable modem which is connected to the wall jack.

Edit: Connecting to port 60001 worked. Why doesn't Gamespy show that port as the one being used?

Anyone having the same problem? I can't connect to NS4, although I can see it on the list under PW:Action. Weird. I'm getting everytime: server not responding. Any solution out there?

Thanks

Edit: K, trying port 60001 worked for me. Will try to play a bit, have fun.

This is getting more and more strange... this morning I directly connected for the first time in about 4 days using the following IP and Port:

nwmain.exe +connect 70.191.163.120:60001

However, now I can't connect using that anymore... What is the deal with this crap?

try switching back to the 5121....something could be up to throw it back and forth to you.
if i didn't do it...someone else would have.

Perhaps try the following as it is a bit strange:

1. Open a command prompt box - go start > run > type: cmd
2. Type: ipconfig /flushdns
3. Type: ipconfig /registerdns

see if that helps any.

cheers

That doesn't work...

It's a problem with the NWN client, it seems to get confused when the server's IP stays the same but the port changes. On my listing of recently connected sites (NOW) I have both NS4's, one with the 5121 port and the 60001 one below it, but when I was having the 'time out' problem after the port changed, I only had the 5121 in the history/favorites so the client seemed to get confused and think i wanted to connect to the port that I had before.

From My nwnplayer.ini file:

Code: Select all

Server17=70.191.163.120:5121
Server18=70.191.163.120:60001
PERHAPS there could be a fix to this, by opening your nwnplayer.ini file and remove all the server numbers:ports from the [History Page] and [Favorites Page] sections...

ie:

Server0=123.123.123.123:1234
Server1=45.45.45.45.5121

change to:

Server0=
Server1=

etc...
