New quests

Starting next week I will begin holding small events. I plan on making each of them to appeal to a different range of levels.

It will work like this. A couple days before I will add to this post listing the character lvls wanted, people that wish to participate should send me a pm with their characters name and what time frame they can participate (all times should be GMT). Once I receive everyones information I will update that post with who is allowed to join. The events will typically be 3-5 people and until further notice faction is a non-issue. Every player participating will have their cdkey noted by me. Since I prefer small events I want to make sure I get as many different people involved as I can so, if I am running a couple in a row I would not allow the same people to participate, unless their was still an open space.

There will be risks. Everything involved will be appropriate for a group of the specified lvls (note I said GROUP) if by any chance I do make an error (I am not infallible) then I will offer a raise or adjustment, other then that if you die it is up to your group to save you or pay the price of repsawning.

Rewards, I create events for something different to do. For the start I will mostly be focusing on lower level people (4-16) since the relic system will be keeping many of you higher levels busy. I do not create events to dole out huge xp or tons of special items (rewards will always be given but set your expectations appropriately). This for me is also a test on the players here, some of you would enjoy spending an hour performing a quest while others would rather powergame and see how much xp they can get in an hour. There is nothing wrong with either one, and depending on the response it can done more often or scrapped and I try something different

The only rule for the whole server to obey is that since this is a special event run there will be no interference from outsiders, pk, offering to buff the people on the quest, etc. I will be spending time and energy and I expect the courtesy of no interference. The players involved will be listed before the event starts so if anyone is unsure who they should not hurt/help check here.

Feel free to post any comments/questions/suggestions but be aware when it comes time to start announcements of quests I will DELETE (or possibly move if needed) all posts besides this one and the quests for convenience.

As I said until further notice all factions/races/alignments allowed. I would have preferred to try and run this on a weekday with less people on. I don’t mind staying up late or starting very early but I can’t take a day off work. I still have a few small things to work out so those of you interested send me pm (if you haven’t yet) of your usual availability all times should be GMT.

As this is the first event I am open to a different range of levels, if it requested more.

Event rules:

1. Do not engage or ask for help from anyone else (except of course those traveling with you).
2. Due to the faction system do not immediately attack a named npc (with different factions they may appear as dislike but they will be part of the quest) try to speak to them fist and control any summons not to attack.
3. In the event of a crash upon returning you will have to wait a few moments since anything implemented will be erased due to a reset so give me few minutes to set everything back up.
4. Have fun and afterwards constructive feedback or suggestions is always appreciated.

The last one was great but I would like to try something a little different. The caravan ambush would be attacked and defended by 2 seperate groups. I know a lot of you have much higher lvl characters and I will be building up to events for those levels.

unfortunatly only a couple people could make it(sunday night not really the best time to run something). With the constant time change due to my concern over potential server problems (from running the event) it was not totally unexpected. Thanks to the couple that made it. I will orginize the next one like the first and try to make it as in depth and complex.

I will follow some good suggestions and begin offering some minor events.

They will be faction/lvl range specific. Expect some simple quests. For those of you that were on it will be similar to my dragon hunt where someone had to kill 3 of the 4 dragons and bring their vials of blood back to me for their reward.

From simple things of delivering messages to a certain npc to hunting down and killing every opposed faction leader (and of course bring me their head!), or perhaps a quest to bring the heads of the leaders inhabiting the planes. I do like the limited time frame idea so expect that also.

Since these will be more spontaneous events just watch the shout channel for your options.

(Not tied to the shadow plane, but a pestilence seems to appear sometimes overtaking the guards and makes them kill everything even their once comrades, so be ever vigilant)

Running of the Bulls!

An old contest that was enjoyed by participant and spectator alike. It was stopped for a long time due to the many deaths of the people running. I have decided to bring this great event back to the people of Aetheria. I will be posting a time soon.

There is no limit to the number of teams. Two people per team will try to make their way through a narrow corridor either killing or running past the crazed blood thirsty bulls. While watching for the bulls you better watch your back, this is first one through alive wins so each team for themselves.
