I'm Voice of Torm, also didn't put NS4 tag.

I also had somebody offering to help me within about 5 minutes of starting, plus discovered the lovely donation box. Guy named DD (nobody mentioned NS3.5 was bizarro NS4 "Me big mean guy! Me want give you +5 armor! That hurt you bad! Me hate you guys!" What else is there - Redrum giving free foot massages? :o ) gave me Enslaved Armor, and my L3 had a +5 battleaxe within 30 minutes.

I never played NS3.5, and I wondered what the difference was. Now I know where to steer the folks who gripe about getting pked all the time.

I never played on 3.5 but, I did make a character there the other day to stop in and see everyone. I have to ask, with that crazy gear how can you ever die?

I will have to make a little time to come by again and look around

What can i say I am just some NS4 noob :(

You can't really die in the pre-epic places. It is in fact the uberized places. Like G1 and the Lost Heroes. Also EC, the Enchanted City. GETTING there is the dangerous part. Its funny, the lowly sewer boots there would be gear that people would kill for (it has haste-perma along with a few other attributes that are nice as well).

For those of you unfamiliar with NS 3.5, NS 3 was revised to 3.5 two years ago with the EC area. It has since undergone a huge overhaul that started last October. It is a very different mod even for NS 4 players who haven't been by in a year. Lots of old familiar areas have been completely redone. New epic areas as well.

3.5 is nice, though I think NS4 (from the whole day I got to spend on it) makes better use of class skills and abilities instead of uber eq.

Honestly after a few days on 3.5 I can't imagine what eq is better than the slave-something eq I was handed on day one. I know better eq exists but I'm still happy with that I have.

I imagine so, given that you can get permahaste + regen boots (the afore mentioned sewer boots) at level 1 over there. I've played there a little bit before this recent down time and honestly, I usually ended up gettting bored real fast.

That and I'm very familiar with the equipment progression here. When I start seeing NS 3.5's pimped out gear, it boggles my NS 4 mind, and I have a hard time thinking there's something even better.

I will agree that NS 4 does require a lot more actual skill at playing and character building rather than loading up on super gear.

And the perma-haste Sewer Boots have nothing on the 1337 gear like the "Accountant's Tunic," if it's even possible to use the same name as our beloved Prognar's gear... gear so uber even I don't have the cajones to use stuff in that league on Lolth...

When some guy gives you perma-haste boots that have other stuff on it at level 1, you know your server is a bit uber-powered :D .

LMAO

Believe me, I'd love to bring in more strict level restrictions...but I think I'd have a revolt on the 3.5 servers. ;)

That's the way NS 3/3.5 has always been...the hunt for teh uber gear. 3 and 4 have very different flavors, and both have their fans. There's quite the fish out of water feeling when 3.5 players go to 4 and vice versa. Just depends on what turns your crank.
