Post by algol333 »

i know this has been addressed b4 but i still am not quite sure about what focuses are needed to get the lvl 30 PM summon...i know SF necro and GSF necro are needed but is SF conj and GSF conj needed or do the conj's just add to the power of the summon..also epic SF necro is not needed correct?
thx for an answer i checked out the wiki page on this and i would just like my understanding or lackof confirmed about this...thx again everyone for your help...

conjuration focuses do not help any undead summons in any way. they are necromancy spells.

you need epic spell focus necro to make him powerful. not sure if it is needed to have..but if you want him to be good you had better pick it up.
if i didn't do it...someone else would have.

SF Conjuration doesn't help Undead Summons?????!!!!?

WTF!!??

the documentation says
-All summon types will receive stat bonuses for spell focus, greater spell focus and epic spell focus of Conjuration.
Well that sucks, if true, there goes 2 feats my undead summoner was counting on to help him. >*insert litany of curses here*<

If this is true, someone should REALLY take a look at the wording in the Documentation. It clearly states ALL summon types, not all minus undead types

Reading as written undead summons should be able to be boosted by
SF Conj, GSF Conj, Ep. SF Conj
SF Necro, GSF Necro, Ep. SF Necro
Death Domain
BG levels (lvls 1, 5, & 10)
PM levels (lvls 1, 5, 10, & 16)

My build was focusing on Cleric w/Death Domain, BG levels, and focuses in Conj and Necro

So, if this post is correct and the Documentation is wrong, I have wasted 2 valuable feats that I surely could have put to better use. At least I am only level 12 now, so I can restart with a new toon and choose more appropriately. Well there goes a couple weeks worth of work (hey, I'm new to NS4 so I level slow...for now)

Man that's annoying.

Also, someone mentioned in game that you can only have 1 prestige class per toon. Where is this written in the documention? I'd like to read that post as well so I don't plan an illegal toon. Sheesh...

You're right - the documentation wasn't totally clear on both points (we recently had to redo our documentation forum due to a hack attack - some of that info may have gotten lost in the re-assembly of stuff).

Documentation updated on both counts to make sure it was clear.

I think a simple solution to this is another journal entry like the Server Commandments, that states all the dos and donts of the server. Upon entering the server, a new person could enter LA with a dwarf with a fighter/wm/dwarvendefender in mind. They could never know unless told that theres only 1 prestige class allowed, and dwarven defenders are RK only.
