When the NS4 server goes down, I get angry and PK people on non-pvp ns3 ;]

^-Almost got 2 of them! (by blowing up the dm chair with a wail)

Anyhow...... If the server is overheating now, what's gonna happen in the summer? Hope there's some good air conditioning around it...

Perhaps it's time to buy a liquid cooling system for the old girl? Or at least clean and reapply some quality arctic silver compound on the cpu heatsync...

I had trouble with overheating in the past, so I put an arctic cooler on my cpu -- has a 4 inch fan and a copper base with lots of thin aluminum fins... my cpu has stayed super cool since then...

most unusual..... twice in two days its been down for a lengthy period of time.... hmmmmm myabe liquid cooling for the server? refrigeration? dry ice? i dunno anything to GIVE US OUR FIX

no i am not insane -- but if you havent done so already, cut holes in the side of the case, and if anything mount a 8" fan externally on its own 12v power supply ( ya know a ac/dc conterter that u can just plug into the wall... put little plastic vents in the holes you cut....spray it flat black with krylon or rustoleum and it comes out real nice....granted there is a size comparison from my cpu tower to a server may be considerable....but if i had my blasted digital camera with me id post an example

ambient temp holds between 30-35 C depending on where i have the tower.

obviously you could mount the fan on the case itself

---the biggest "jerry-rigs" always work the best !

Is that NS 3 East? If so you got any awesome ub3r 133t gear to spare I could use on some of the n00b characters I have there?

Well it was froze at 70c this morning so I brought it down.
The test server was at 65c which is way to high as well.
I think both have had something go wrong in a big way.

Moving some hardware around. Installing some fans and reinstalling some heatsings with some arctic silver to see if it changes.
If not We may be doing a new board/cpu

If ya have any parts or quarters laying around send em in. Eyeballing an opteron 165 on a A8n-8 board to swap in there.
