hmmm... The shout messages are critical to all who wish to participate ikn the relic games...

As for ppl with 2 computers up --- unless you have a delay like i do when i relog on the same SINGLE account... you can be off and on again within 10 seconds, so what is the diffrerence with having them jump to their alternate CUP.... AS LONG AS THEY ARE NOT SITTING AFK.

The other night i was multitasking with 2 toons at once.. and you can ask the ppl who i was with, i was maintaining them very well... might as well have been 2 auctual people...and at times there are ---- in this case i see no wrong..... niether of the toons were idle.

ONLY when the server is crowded will i avoid dual-logging b/c then it becomes unfair to others and this really should fall under the relm of common-sense.

Take away the server raiding shout message. Instead, upon log-in, have the location of the relic-guys (seers?) given to the player, to use the info to hunt down their own relic or go after someone elses, if they care to.

That way, it tones down the whole relic chase, but still makes it avavilable for those that care.

And nothing to stop the DMs from giving shouts during raids, if for no reason than to display the fickleness of the gods relative to mortal concerns. Or, other faction people who notice an enemy in their city.

I think this is a good idea. When a single player invades a town there is no warning message. Why should it be any different for the relic system. Plus this rewards and encourages people to guard relics and not keep an alt nearby so they can relog when its stolen.

if we had a warning for every time an enemy enters a town... it would be like 10 Jesters on the shout channel all at once :P

if there was no broadcast message whenever a relic was raided then the only ones who benefit from this are people who are actually sitting by the cradle. and these are the ppl with 2nd accounts idling about.

I dont agree with people being logged in with multiple accounts at once but at the same time I know of many SL players who will spend hours hanging around Menzo who are only logged in with 1 account.

So are they not allowed to do that anymore because that is camping?

I think people are just cut because they dont get the relics often enough and the point the SL guards are harder then the others... what a joke I have found then no harder then any other town guard and I have fought then all.

And taking away the shout message when relic is raided is silly for starters as others have said it is key to the success of the relics and also there has been alot of times I have been told about raids from toons that are levelling around the area i.e crossroads, south road ect. who with only 1 account I can happily log another toon be fully buffed before they get to the cradle so regardless raiders will have to put up with defense.

Actually now that I think about it this whole topic seems to be for ppl who have trouble getting relics so they want the Dev team to make it easier for them lol

Also on the note of harder guards sticking with Role PLaying if my town got attacked (in real life) I would set up stronger guards to defend it wouldn't anyone else?? so I think some system to spawn harder guards when raids are happening would be good also if in real life again my faction was to collect all my enemies relics I would have stronger guards protecting my cradle aswell maybe a system needs to be put in place to spawn nastier guards depending on the situation well that is my suggestion.

Just nitpicking here, but SL guards are NOT on equal level with all other guards. Although they are not the most experienced of the towns, they do beat guards from LA and NC in my opinion. As I pointed out once before, dual schimmy guards can get off a lot of criticals really fast. However, I doubt it affects it much because most raiders are so higher level above the guards they get em anyway. However, TC guards have stonehold that can get any 30+ character with a low will save. TC should use that to their advantage...

Aye, now that there is no risk of loosing gear in raids (as long as you have 30K + gold in your inventory, there is no immediate crisis with the EXISTING differentiation of guard strengths.... no longer will i have to run my naked monk into SL and risk getting suddley pwned by a few lucky hits from a mob of guards

... It would be nice if they were a bit more balanced just based on a matter of principle.

...This endless babble of a discussion makes me want to vommit everywhere  .... If you are capable of PLAYING multiple toons at once then more power to you ! There is no solution to this problem and it is impossible to regulate multiple logins due to the obvious existance of networks...if you are that bothered THAT MUCH by people having multiple simultaious logins -- here is simple solution: http://www.dell.com .... buy a junkbox/integrated POS ( only $299.99)....and it can run NWN w/o too many problems.... I see this babble going nowhere --- And if you can think of a PRACTICAL solution to this """""" problem """"" then by all means go ahead and post it

The problem we DMs have with "camping" isnt someone hanging around to protect their relic, but going AFK and leaving the character there. This can be done with 1, 2 or 50 computers; if you leave a character AFK, expect it to be booted when you return (and probabloy with a snazy new color scheme if Chase was the one who caught you).

this does not include bathroom breaks, or runs to the fridge for a drink. it does include stuff like going to take a nap and leaving the character logged in or keeping a second character logged out to raise and/or buff your low lvl.

with our server growing, we are at maximum capacity alot, and someone could be actually playing with the slot you are tying up when you do this.

This is not related to the topic. It would take about as much time as a bathroom break & then they would be logged off again. Sure would have saved me a lot of xp loss too if I could do it. However, the rest is right on the mark :).

key word ^^ I said nothing about logging one in to raise.

However that said, dont let me catch you log out dead to raise your party. it breaks the area, and (while its an easy fix) most ppl dont fix it after. If you log out dead to raise your party, expect your cleric to mysteriously die upon login if im on.

YAY! It only takes 2 minutes to fix a broken area & Mountain Trail was always broken when I was leveling :( . I must admit that it took me a long time to find out how to fix broken maps, maybe we should post how to fix them. Or was it just me not knowing?
