Level Requirements

Post by YelloweFriday »

I've found the level requirements to be a little upsetting. I and another player managed to kill Tul'gik (I was level 3 and he was level 2). He dropped his [censored] sword and I being of that weapon focus equipped it no problem. Except that it said "you do not meet the requirements for this weapon". Shouldn't it be that if you can and do kill a monster you should be able to use the items dropped perhaps?

Another instance of this occured when I bought a Masterwork Full Plate. I equipped it just fine and it didn't say anythign about level requirements. Then I died whilst venturing in the Shadow Legion and on respanw my armor was un-equipped and I was not allowed to use it. Well that's great now I can't use my 10k armor for another 4k of expirience.

It just seems that some of the level requirements are not set right for the levels that can use them.

1.) look again at that sword...the lvl req is right IMO. A lvl 2-3 shouldn't be weilding something like that (it helps prevent that "donation box vigor" people had in NS3, where you could get g1 gear your first time logging into the server)

2.) you suddenly weren't able to use that armor because the req was put in after you already bought it...remember this IS a beta, not everything is set right now.

Yeah the sword is nice but I was able to kill the enemy that had it. Seems wrong that I get something that I can't use unless I wait another level.

I did the work. I got the sword. Why can't I use it? I don't think many people are going to be giving their new Tul'gik swords to newbs seeing as its "all-powerful" and whatnot.

Yella' fella'....you're forgetting that people will make new chars and that he can be done twice or more times even..whats to stop someone from running Tul'Gik twice and giving the sword to his next character?

You'll get your reward from beating the boss with time and leveling. BTW, congrats on being able to kill 'um at such a low lvl.

Think of it this way: You killed Tul'Gik, and got his sword. Now you have to spend time learning how to use this powerful weapon correctly without hurting yourself. Once you do, you'll be able to use it. It's something for you to "work up to", and when you do, you've got a shiny new sword to use :)
