Try again, Jester. I see two prestige classes in that combo.

As a compromise why not every 2 lvls of palemaster equals 1 lvl of the original caster class you took. This way your not way uber in magic power but still retain your magic abilities and palemaster doesn't just look so great for fighting type classes only.

Palemaster class works exactally how it's supposed to with wizard...but most people dont play wizards. Sorcs dont learn the spells without taking sorc levels though so they get screwed....for example a lvl 5 wizard 25 palemaster can cast level 9 spells...just have to learn em from scrolls.
It would be nice to play a 10 wizard / 30 pale master and have a caster level of 25 instead of 10. I am currently testing pale master now. I will probably go 30 wiz/ 10 pale master. Next level I get my first palemaster summons. Hope its good. If its shitty i will just go wizard.
If you go that route you should probably consider 24wiz/16pm as you get an AC bonus for every 4 levels of pm. Plus 24 levels of wiz is enough to get the full compliment of spells including the important epics.
