Games are for gameplayers

Post by Hulgaru »

This thread is still going strong? Wow. I had no idea our infamy and bad name spread so far... wait.... what bad name?

Look people, the only bad name we have is the one that you all give us. Please understand. The Okies are out among you all... in your neighborhoods, in your congregations, your political parties... 8)

Is there widespread mayhem and havoc when we play? Maybe. Are there conversions from some gods to another? Maybe. Do we get noticed by DMs? Absolutely. Case in point... one of the Lesser Gods, not going to name names, but suffice it to say it was NOT the All Powerful Okie God visited Okie Reagan, Okienaut, and Okie Christ and suceeded in scattering us with Mephits.

If people SERIOUSLY whine and whinge about the POSSIBILITY of meeting us in the game... about the merest HINT that there is someone out there that is so random, so unpredictable, and potentially harmful, or helpful... doesn't that air of mystery add something? If not, why do you play games? To have some gentle feathery cloud guide your hand as you change to colors of the blocks on the screen? Neversummer 4 is about strife, chaos, upheaval, battle, blood, vile enemies and righteous heroes. But what kind of hero totes a complaint box around?

If all that is too much to wrap your heads around, whatever... this is a game. And sure games have rules. And if we break rules, we'll be punished. You all seem to worry about factions and which faction has an okie in it, or if the okies will backstab factions... and all i can say is bah. If we do something that the DMs disagree with, we'll get punished for it. If we do something that the faction disagrees with, they'll come after us. If we're in Ragnar's kin, and we do something crappy to someone in that faction, I'd hope... no I'd expect and DEMAND that the faction players do something about it.... IN GAME. If they can't do it in game... then they deserved to be replaced with shell scripts.

Now... if we were out there duping items, or hacking characters, or running around shouting in l33t speak... then I'd expect to be banned.

In the meantime... the Okies are here. We're nasty, awesome, rotten, cheerful, unpredictable meanie-heads. Get used to it, or find a faction very far away from us... or hunt us for our ears. It doesn't matter to me... I'm an Okie.

PS Does no one look at the Deities post? If they did, they would CLEARLY see that the domains assigned to the Great and Powerful Okie God are Evil, Chaos, and Trickery.

Seems like there are two types of whiners here. The RP crowd. To you all I can say is Okies RP better than almost everyone I've EVER met on South. So for you to complain, I just don't get it, go play the sims online if you want a nonviolent game where everyone RPs happy thoughts.

To the rest of you, grow up, seriously NS4 is all about faction warfare, and think of the okies as just another faction (they will be soon) so why pick them to whine about? As was said, if the okies do wrong, tell DMs, they will fix any ACTUAL wrong. If the DM doesn't care, its not because okies are all special and allowed to "break" rules, its because your whining about something the DMs could care less about (most of the time). Again well said Okienaut.

For those who complain about the okie's gear/levels, etc. I've killed both Okienaut and King when both tried to attack me while I was already fighting DR. So trust me, they are not uberized, or otherwise beyond your abilities in gear/levels/stats. The real problem perhaps lies in the fact okies have PvP builds (I'd assume) with PvP gear set ups, and lots of PvP fighting experience. You are likely approaching them as you would Monsters, assuming you can soak/heal easy and that the AI will make them act dumb. Wake up, they are players, who as said, know how to fight PvP. They WILL beat you if you are inexpereinced in PvP and have a crappy PvP build.

lol okie rp? please..............

they're plain and simple grievers, and should be dealt with.

ns4 isn't the ns3 south server where they're privileged enough to live by special rules.

we have a multitude of new players from all former ns servers, as well as new people from tons of other PWs (there's even a forum post in nwn official forums about it)

grieving should have a zero tolerance policy. plain and simple.
yes, i've seen people completely new to ns4 get killed (and killed again when they walk back to the plains) by okies. ive been attacked by them too, but for the new people, those first impressions don't do ns4 justice because of their actions. this is PW action, not PW Arena.

they're like the bnet crowd. go play diablo 2 with that kind of attitude.

i realize that this is pointless to argue about(seeing as people from NS dont know what RP is...) but anyone who says over shout, "we own this server" is not RPing...

My only real concern is that they are able to remain in the faction despite killing/disarming their own people? I thought the downside of being an okie was not being part of an "official" faction. If they get to be treated as NPCs but still remain in the faction then everyone else is getting a raw deal no?

As a member of the Shadow Legion I came across some people with the title of Okie - they never bothered me (I didn't even know what an Okie was until I was informed that they were and I quote "server dead sh*ts").

Agent Shiny wrote:NPC Okies have their set rules already as we have already seen that APPLIES to all of them in ns3...
yea, but why are they going to follow NPC rules if they cannot even follow the regular rules?

but you people really dont have much to worry about, most of the okies that are unruly that a person would need to worry about cant build characters well and a well built character can easily put them in thier place. There are a few okies taht are respectable.. they are just atm nowhere to be found...
When the Okies actually break a rule, like anyone else they are punished for it. If you want the Okies to stop and get banned for what they are doing then we would have to ban probably 80% of all of you for doing the same thing, but not being in a guild doing it.
funny how the okies never dared to play on any servers other than south...

yea... that's cuz they are the only ones that really "try" to "rp" on south.
RPing evil isnt PKing and PPing...

get over the okies... things arent going to change w/ them. u just have to deal w/ crap sumtimes, oh well you'll get over it.

you know....as soon as the okies are set to their own faction....there will be no difference between them killing you or any other faction killing you, plain and simple. Now that NS4 is open (well, mostly anyways), forget what the Okies did in NS3, wipe the slate clean. Since as far as I know, there arent any rules about PKing in NS4, why are people still argueing about it? Greifing will not be an issue because the driving force behind the game will be to kill other factions players. Okies will just be a random faction attacking everyone, and Id hope in the most inoportune times. Say we in the LA raid the SL, well Id fully expect Okie spies to see that and then attack either us or the SL at the same time, and then probably proceed to attack the victor in the the first fight. So.....in conclusion....give it a rest people.

Everyone HAS to join A faction to play. The Okies have to join one like anyone else. But if they wish to become factionless they have to take on the faction they choose.

Until the Okie becomes once removed from their faction.
