Got my agreement on this one. I'm creating a Cl/So/RDD - but it certainly won't be an "Uberbuild" - more of an extention of a RP concept. It's being built with "What would I do at this point based on my experiences and the thoughts of my character", rather than "What is going to give me the most Uber character at Lvl 35"Jaromaru wrote:I always thought D&D was about the adventure
I'm here to have some fun. Due to my limited "Free time" to play this GAME - I'll mostly be soloing. 30 mins here - an hour there - something to break the monotony of Real Life. This means that I'm going to be pretty hard up forming a party - which from what I've heard means that actually getting beyond Lvl 20 is going to be a major challenge for a "non-uber" build - if not impossible.
However, as someone pointed out - this is a Faction War server, not an RP Server. Uber Builds are going to be the norm. Therefore, the Dev's have to code to accomodate Uber Builds.
The best that I as an "old school" RPer can hope for is that next time my character standing in Sleeth at dawnbreak calling on Lathander to give my words strength before launching into a speach imploring the natives to give up the evils of Slavery; some Kindly DM/God will look upon me and grant me some small XP bonus for RP instead of taking over the nearest Dragon and using me as a chew toy.
There is always the other option - I could bugger off somewhere else that suits my particular playing style better. Certainly makes more sence than jumping up and down on the forum and complaining about how tragicly unfair it is that the world wasn't created to suit my way of playing.
