mod
Hi all, I'm returning after a long absence from NS and NWN in general. I have a few questions regarding the mod.
Since I haven't seen most of the newer drops and such, I am just wondering if there are in epic kukris to be found? I've heard rapiers aren't great.
Also, back when I was hanging around there wasn't much challenging for an epic character, has this changed? Do people still run around killing goblins for xp at lvl 30.
Is PvP still pretty widespread, although fun, I remember the Okies and some other called shot archer group that would bring havoc upon lessers.
Anything else I should know?
Thanks

Weapons:
I think the unknown evil drops > lvl 20 kukris. There is a rapier of pain that drops in sunken isle, I'm not sure what the lvl requirement is on it.
Epic areas:
Frostdale, Sunken Isle and the Epic Amazons have been added since you were here last. Unfortunately, due to the "you learn nothing from killing this creature" limitation, I think you can only reach level 34ish. Unless you want to kill the same boss mob over and over again and don't mind waiting for it to respawn.
PVP:
Death Dealers (MA) and kSt (AO) do most of the PVPing. There is also a player whose bioware login is appropriately named "nspker" that PVPs a lot. Character names are "you R" and "i am". Most of the okies seem to have moved on to other things. I hardly ever see one logged on these days.
EDIT: Forgot to mention that Nomius (Terminal Insanity) left NS4 for Three Towns. I'm sure you remember him very well.

Blade of Unknown Evil is indeed level 20, but Unknown Evil is one of the toughest bosses in the entire game. You might find someone who is willing to sell a blade, but given the difficulty of getting one, expect to pay a lot for it. There's a level 16 kukri in RK. Merfolk Rapier of Pain is level 16.cely wrote:Weapons:

Yes, 34ish is about the highest you can get with regular mob kills. You can theoretically get to 40 on FD and amazon boss kills since they're all around CR 35, but there's the respawn time involved that makes it a drag. The highest level characters around here that got all the levels from boss kills are around level 37.Epic areas:

Nomius got himself banned, IIRC.EDIT: Forgot to mention that Nomius (Terminal Insanity) left NS4 for Three Towns. I'm sure you remember him very well.

Yup, nspker isn't all that tough, and since he tends to hang around the mountain pking leveling parties, he usually gets hunted down by high levels anyway. He either logs after being killed or when he notices things are about to get hot.Death Dealer1 wrote:don't worry about nspker...his builds are weak and he dies alot.

They forgot to mention the Okies, lately I've only seen Okie the Great and hes not my type (he killed the party of Okie Greed instead of the opposing one), and Okie Greed (Get) is getting banned a lot (haven't seen Get lately but I haven't been on lately either). Other than that, I haven't seen any Okies at all (Ifrit doesn't count, hes KsT now anyway).

Yeah.. nspker is an easy kill, if you can catch him with the double-haste exploit he likes to use that makes him near-DM speed.
The okies seem to have vanished again, possibly due to the Relic system bringing out the strongest characters which just walk right over any pitifil okie build...
By the looks of current events.. it's gonna be everyone Vs. Shadow Legion, since more and more veterans are jumping on the evil-wagon, and -DD- is gathering all the 'evil' PK'ers into their guild.
In the future, if KST stays away, the world may split into 2 rivals not-quite-evil vs. evil: LA+NC+TC+RK+AO vs MA+SL, otherwise the balance may get out of whack and the Drow will burn the overworld cities... but then wouldn't that make this Dor Maeglin (Drow-dominated mod/pw)? Only time will tell..... hopefully the GODS have things planned to help balance out the land...

Actually the relics seems to be morphing the server into a SL vs. AO rivalry, with poor LA caught in the middle. I've seen SL and AO try to deny each other the use of the relics while trying to hoard as many as possible. I've also seen the other faction occaisionally act as spoilers, and DMs, particularly Yonwe, Shelt, and Chase stirring things up by grabbing relics on their PCs.
