Now I'm going to have to rewrite my price lists again — for the third time! :P Still, this seems like good news.

I've been testing this today and the prices seem unchanged in the game. Gems are all still the same and gold nuggest are only 1200 gp (unchanged I think).

Doh - it'd help if I put the correct database file on the server before I updated it. Everything should be better now....

Okay, so after some internal discussion, we have throttled back the buyback value of gems/treasure again. Not to their previous levels, but 2x their previous values instead of the 5x their previous values that went in a week ago. Gold nuggets, sarcophaguses, and gold brick prices remain higher however.

Also, gold drops from mobs have been reduced a bit, especially for higher levels.

Not to mimic the fiscal policy of Brazil, but we're trying to find the sweet spot for the economy - not too tight, not too much slack. And, there's admittedly not that much to buy - yet...

is still good...was bad when it was worthless. not sure if you guys will agree, but have you started a new char lately....just start one and play with no help? 500 gold doesn't buy armor and weapon. well, maybe medium armor and a dagger. after that you can't afford any heal potions/kits. just wonder if you guys ever really noticed that.

500 gold will get you a weapon and some armor to start with. It wont get you gear that you wont upgrade the first moment you get the chance to though. Its not intended to start you out with the equipment you need to get to the first ILR break, just to get you kicked out the barracks door (or spider nest, tavern, bear den, ect).

I can see the want for bigger and better everything, I dont see a reason to remove all challenge from the game. And yes actually I dont meta game, all my charaters start from scratch with no assistance.

i know the just to kick you out the door, but when you buy ur weapon and armor....nothing left for heals or anything. you just have some armor and a dagger...if that depending on what you buy.

First of let me say thank you Death Dealer1 for starting this off. As a new person to the server with nothing but low lvl char, I can say that increased item value helps alot, and cuts down on the trips needed to go back to get healing. It's nice to have enough gold to stock up. As far as how much to adjust things I leave that to people better suited that I.

I do have a question though. I have heard alot of people saying their higher lvl characters have more gold than they have any use for. I'm wondering what, if any, are the plans for making use of this? Just curious my imagination runs wild with all the possiblities.

I think 500 gold is the perfect amount to start off with, not too little and not too much. I mean, you can buy decent gear if you just spend it right, kinda like budgeting it. And if you manage your gold decently, then you can buy a couple of healing kits. Also notice that the rats and fire beetles only drop gold, and they drop it frequently. So when you start out you just have to survive and kill a few rats until you get enough gold for what you want.

Yeah, that's pretty much how I built up the big cash reserves on my mule, I started by cleaning vermin out of the NS sewers. Of course it helped when invaders hit NS City and left behind gold bricks that I sold and made a tidy profit on.

lol, yeah I did that my second character. After a raid I'd scavenge around and loot the dead bodies of the city guards. Unfortunately prices were like they previously wore and I only got 600 gold of the bricks :? . But now I look foward to looting, because it seems that I was the only who did in my groups. I would always be left behind as I looted, and everyone else ran off.
