Need some advice...

Post by positronica »

Ok, here's a few questions for you experts... (By the way, I'm still a newb to NWN, so don't yell at me if these questions don't make any sense.)

1. If you could only have one of the following feats, which one would you take, Epic Will, Epic Fortitude, or Improved Evasion? (Note: Assume that before making any choice, your Fortitude and Will are 21 and 17, respectively.)

2. Assume that your Spot and Listen skills are both going to have 40 ranks, plus Epic Skill Focus in each. With that in mind, would you take Blind-Fight as a feat, or would you go for another level of Epic-Toughness?

3. I've noticed that some gloves on NS have Weapon Finesse as a bonus feat. Are there only low level items that have this feat, or are there also high level items out there that grant Weapon Finesse?

Improved Evasion, no question. While saves are important, improved evasion negates 1/2 dmg from the majority of attack spells automatically. Quite honestly, I would never take any of the epic save feats on a char; the feat instead can be used to make your attack stronger or something similar.

Epic toughness is another one of those "I have nothing left to choose" feats. Blind Fight is very nice for melee and bow attackers, since it deals not only with hidden enemies via stealth, but also with concealment and darkness.

I don't think there are any "high" level items with it, but you are really only giving up strength to use those gloves, which a finesser shouldnt need anyways.
But, it's such a draining job that, until you've DMed on an NWN server yourself, you the playerbase, have got to cut the DMs some slack. - Flailer

epic toughness is 20hp right(not 1 per level for max of 40 as toughness feat)?

If so....taking 2 "epic toughness" feats would produce the same HP increase as 2 "consitution +1" feats at level 40 (and only 10 more HP at lvl 30). The extra constitution would have the added bonus of +1 fortitude.

Or maybe I'm wrong. I can't remember these things that well. But it always seemed(that if you played the character up enough levels) that epic toughness would lose out to +consitution.

Yeah, Epic Toughness gives you +20 HP each time you take it, and you can take it up to ten times. You're right, that generally taking Great Constitution twice would be better than taking Epic Toughness twice, but Great Consitution isn't available to epic fighters as one of their every-other-level bonus feats.

As for the other replies so far, thanks for the advice, and if anyone else has any insights, I'd love to hear them.
