Quest, 8/9/05

Post by TheBestDeception »

Let it be known that this upcoming Tuesday night (11 pm CST), there is to be a server-wide quest in the realm of Neversummer.

Although not necessary, it might be helpful to post a preferred charcter you would like to quest with, so what we may get an idea of level range. This will better enable us to make a quest that will suit the amount of people planning to attend. It is not suggested, however, that one uses an uber-high char ( > 25 or so), as it would possibly throw off the balance of other characters on that night.

As for the quest ... you will have to wait and see.

I can bring a 16th level cleric (if you bring undead) or 18th level rogue archer (if you don't bring undead).

Also, we're in Daylight Saving's time, so it would be more accurate to say 11 PM CDT.

One of the advantages of being in central Indiana is NO DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME.

It was a blast.

Though, Father Joshua would have fared better if everyone could have been made friendly to him. I know I popped him a few times with some stray arrows.

i was in it as long as possible till i had to leave for work. a great advantage of the weapon master is i only hit the father 4 times and he ran away near death. other than that from what i seen it would have been a fun one to finish.
when death comes for you and you are not afraid, if he asks why tell him you met me

Update...

Post by TheBestDeception »

I was glad to see another great crowd this evening for the second server-wide quest. Yesterday, I counted a rather impressive (by recent standards) number for NS4 at 24, and today was nearly as good around 20-ish, as well. With such showings, it is encouraging for us to continue such events.

There is one thing I would like to emphasize, however: as much as everyone would like to be the hero, it can be hurtful to the event as a whole to rush and try to beat everyone else in to combat. This made taking the Merfolk Stronghold today quite a pain (literally, to those involved), as those resting were not able to prepare due to rushed attacks.

Everyone who participates, regardless of being a front-line or support character, will be rewarded. Therefore, act as a team and try not to make it more difficult than it should. Remember: the spawns in a large-player quest will be different from "normal spawns", in that they will be engineered to fight 5+ at once, not a single person.

I've noticed, though, that we're doing a lot of championing for good. That's all well and... err... good, I guess. But, how about an event that champions evil? Or maybe even just not GOOD.

Quests that call upon the champions of Sleeth, Garagoth or Menzoduran. Maybe defending Sleeth against an onslaught of Northern Coalition forces or Menzo from an attack by Ragnar's Kin. Or if you're wanting to stay away from bigger raid targets you can choose some of the smaller towns that won't incur a kill-loot if someone dies by the wrong hand. Protecting the Sleeth breeding grounds...

Or, if you're gonna do the good against evil thing.. Does it have to be centered around Neversummer and Avendell? The undead and Amazons around Daeron are a perfect source of terror. A truly hellacious uprising of undead could be tons of fun.

Or defending the outposts of the Northern Coalition. I'm still surprised at how many people ask, "Daeron? Where's that?"

By the way... Loved the event last night. I did notice people died a LOT. It's like they all took a page out of Spankey's book. :D
