Strength capped at 32?

Post by Shieldcracker »

I have a barbarian with a base Strength of 20, a variety of +STR equipment, and a friendly cleric who casts Bull's Strength on me. When I use rage after having been buffed to 30 STR, I end up with 32 STR instead of the 34 I'm expecting. Does NS4 cap maximum strength, or cap the greatest amount over your base strength you can go?

Its a cap in the game itself. You can buff up to +12 in an attribute then it basically ignores the rest.

In PnP the items and the spell wouldn't even stack, so consider yourself lucky! :)

It should be noted that since the STR gained from RDD levels are not magic str bonuses, but actual increases to your base STR, they do allow you to achieve much higher levels of STR.
But, it's such a draining job that, until you've DMed on an NWN server yourself, you the playerbase, have got to cut the DMs some slack. - Flailer
