Devastating Critical
I just heard that devastating critical is not allowed in Neversummer. First, is this true? Second, is this permanent? Just asking because it will help in my feat choices. Thanks.

On a related note, it's interesting as to which broken bioware features are disabled and which aren't.
For instance, HiPS (Hide in Plain Sight) is almost as much a monstrosity as Dev Crit. Except that I like using HiPS to kill people. But I digress!
And then there is Epic Dragonshape. This is broken beyond belief! Was anyone not sick of the pre-wipe Gizamaluke being unkillable???? Anyone???
Lets not even mention Epic Warding

I suppose something with 50/+20 and TWO THOUSAND dmg reduction should be added to the list of cheap features, as wellTeladro wrote:Yep, I could do it quite easily as well.Lework wrote:I killed Giz's dragon several times with my war mage..however I do not know of any melee toon who could take him.

But, it's such a draining job that, until you've DMed on an NWN server yourself, you the playerbase, have got to cut the DMs some slack. - Flailer

Pre Epic: 9 melee / 1 caster / 10 AA = +5 bonus
Epic: 20 AA = +10 bonus
Total: +15 Enhancement
DV is correct: there is no weapon or ability that can bypass the +20 needed to break through Epic Warding. While yes, it is true that a Weapon Master can do more than 50 points of dmg, it definitely gives the mage more than enough time to get his bigbys/IGMS off to win the fight.

My dragon was a super tank... it easily fell pray to a Exalted sorceress style build, particularly with NS4s distinct fetish for high ammounts of slash resist and immunity. Its was and always shall be a super tank/melee character, and if there is one thing we can all agree on when it comes to neverwinter nights its that Casters (mages in particular) have always been the kings of the roost in all but a hand full of cases ( and even then the titles always in contention ).
Hard to kill, yes.
Unkillable, never.
take it from someone whos been around the block more times then can be counted with driuds and shifters, a dragon shape can be just as pathetic as any build in the hands of someone who doesnt know what they are doing.
Side note ( epic warding doesnt stop sneaks or magical damage bonuses )
and theres nothing so weak as a shadow dancer who cant hide from you.
A bard with epic skill focus listen and amplify turned on ( not counting a elfs listen and spot bonuses if you happen to be one ) will spot almost ANY shadowdancer every time.
Hips is... an annoyance at best provided you actually take steps toward making yourself less then as easy target for it.
the only thing I have to say regarding dev crit and the wonderful scripting behind it is its a travesty and crime inflicted on DnD the likes of which I hope we never see again.
