Is there a place that can i.d/buy high value items?

And I mean, better than Avendell?

My first problem is that I can't use the shops since I mistakenly thwacked a guard.

I guess that's my own tough luck :? The second problem is I have an armour that appears 'visually' to rock some, but a friend can't i.d. it for me in Avendell. Is there a place I can go that's I guess friendly to LA with useable shops, which not only will trade with me but will also i.d the armour? I think the armour was dropped by an LA guard, maybe, and kinda looks like it's got bits missing in the image.

You have to find a high lvl pc to ID it for u.

Ah I guessed as much but my buddy seemed to believe that player lvl had nothing to do with it. Thanks alot

the only thing that matters when you id items is a players lore skill. and to have a high lore skill you probably need to be high lvl.
ofcourse, if you're a bard or a harper scout the lvl will matter because they have a feat (bardic/harper knowledge) which gives them 1 lore/lvl

Bards are great IDers. Especially when they cast Legend Lore and ID.

The armor you speak of is the celestial plate dropped by the half-celestial warriors. It is a level 13 armor with slash abilities and 15% fire immune. It will not ID or sell in avendell. It's a bug, but the rest should sell there just fine. Should be pretty easy to ID, in fact. Probably only need 15-20 lore.

I'm pretty sure the lore chart is unaffected. Because of how the item "echelons" are set up, a stronger item would indeed "cost" more, inherently. The problem with item costs on other servers are the fact that immunities and special abilities that grant immunities (IE freedom) are usually way overpriced.

So if you find 2 longswords. Both are a level 16 sword. You can ID #2 but not #1. Most likely the extra mods on sword #1(vamp regen on DoD's sword or something) make the item cost more than the other, because the only extra mods on sword #2 are the regular bonuses plus 1d6 elemental damage.

If the lore chart were fixed, Ideally you could ID all level 13 items you came across. As of now this isn't always possible.

I'm pretty sure the lore chart is hardcoded. And it's based on the item value Bio uses, not necessarily what the merchants use. I'm not sure how much the engine allows the devs to tweak lore/UMD results.

Don't bet on it DV. Lokey has said before that "ALL" of the Bioware scripts have been thrown out and replaced with custom ones. I know he has modified the Use Magic Device capability - I would bet that he has found / will find a way to "Subvert Bioware code" and change the Lore results as well, if they need to be changed.

There are NO "Standard" items in use in the module, EVERYTHING you buy, sell, pick up from a drop is a Custom. Over 2400 of them :!: I don't know how the Bioware code handles custom items.

"Hard coded" just means the code has to be re-written. :wink:
