High/Low Magic

Hello all, just checking out some PWs to play in and I was wondering if NS4 is going to be considered more of a high or low magic server(in terms of items). Thanks

I'd call it medium magic. At 21st level I've got +4 and +5 stat boost items, +3 weapons and +3 armors.

Midori,

Id say its mid-high, but very very custom server. Spells and items are very very very custom.

Its not NS3 which was high magics.

Its a fun place to play and the community is a good bunch of people for the most part.

Alright, thanks for the answers. Mainly just checking to see if everyone would be running around with critical hit immunity and true seeing and the like, lol.

Just been spending my time exploring and looking around.

Recently bought HotU and reinstalled all my stuff. Trying to find a different server since the other PW I played on last year you'd get PK'd all the time in PvP areas if you didnt' have haste and invisibility, lol.

yeah, that's one difference. There's some common elemental resists, SR is common on robes, and some shields, keen is common if you craft or get high lvl drops, and there's virtually no permanent immunities(none that i can recall seeing) unless they come from spells or classes(like pm).

Also, rings are mostly +skill, with better ones having +5 to two skills, and +1 ac. And the other items seem to be mostly for one class apiece, like helms have int, cloaks have cha, boots have dex, gloves have str, belts have con. So i wouldn't expect to max out at +12 to a stat from items.

Yeah, I've noticed only certain items from the shop give the stat bonuses. Don't know about any of the rarer stuff you'd get from drops since I'm not a high enough level to kill much of anything strong.

Do items get up to +10 to a stat?

Most I've seen on imbued items (lvl 16 items) is +5. I'm guessing anything above that is reserved for 20+ range of items, which are scarce now.

from what i thought i heard +10 will be the highest item. could be wrong, but of course this won't happen till the planar areas are installed. if i am wrong and it is +12, it kinda makes the enchantments for certain races useless.

Actually it maxes at +6 right now.

May see some rare +7 artifacts in the planes. For attributes that is.

One day I might get up there to see some nice stuff. Unfortunately the build I decided on is really weak at lower levels, heh.

u wanna know about weak? try a dex build for the first couple lvls before weapon finesse, ugh... then try a drow dewx build.. lol.. u will be sucking for quite a while..

I don't know if the exp penalty for multiclassing is on this server, but because of the bug with humans atm with PRC I'll be suffering it from level 7-40 lol.

Not sure if it was fixed in 1.62, or waiting for 1.63 for it.

I took 20 lvls of ranger first so that wasn't a terrible xp penalty. And Qui, there's some nice low lvl gloves(i think lvl5 or 9 req) that give weapon finesse. But it's a pain still b/c then you can't use +str gloves :/

those gloves are useless to lvl a non AB class, since you can buy weaon finesse at lvl 3 and the gloves at lvl 5
