too much to ask for :(
More like people pvping each other in spawn points with nekkid builds apart from weapon :( . This is why we can't have nice things, people!

Goblins, bugbears, some newbie critters all got cr and difficulty changes.
Lower undead, minos as well.

About the only sub 15 mob I havnt touched are demons/underdark. They all seem ok. Although maybe the driders and some other underdark critters need a little tweak.

Once this build goes in Ill need to spend time tweaking sunken to make sure its good.

Cool. I don't think I have any active < 10 characters, but I'll try skimming around and see what I think of the changes.

As suggested, I did a little tweak to formians.. but not the queen.

Did not touch the mephits/imp group. they are a little rough, but part of an MA job so they should probably be more difficult.

Ideas thoughts on, Ash Mountain and that whole area between there and Haddon Mirk.. Does it get used?

mezzoloths is a nice area to level from about level 14 until whenever it is that your build can survive in efreets. They die fast and have high cr's for pre-frostdale mobs, but they can also kill you pretty quick if you aren't careful, and that can scare people away. The kobolds and gnomes in ash mountains are ok for leveling MA characters before heading to ave too. The rest of that whole western slope area doesn't get used much for anything but traveling. You might be able to level some in that area, i have no idea, it is just too far out of the way for anyone to go at low levels. I've tried leveling in haddon mirk crypts, and i just remember it being too rough on low level toons. There were lots of saving throws you needed to make that were at pretty high dcs for characters near the appropriate level to go there, and cleric builds aren't quite developed enough by that level to help out a lot.

DeputyDog wrote:Trolls on the mountain.. Too hard for CR? easier then the giants further up? Ideas?
It's not a popular change, that much is certain, but it makes sense given the XP formula tweaks.
The trolls are tougher than the ogres and weak giants were because the former mix was just a simple beatdown, the mobs had few special abilities. The trolls regenerate and have more special abilities which makes them a bit harder. Probably someone should look at their AC compared to the giants and tweak things to make them more equal, maybe take a look at their hp too, since they recover health unlike the giants did.
Formians? Ideas? Easier taskmasters? harder?
Only real problem with formians is the CR spread, workers start at CR 3 (appropriate, since some spawn on the Plains of Angmar), and the CR goes up to 15 for Myrmarchs. That's a bit wide. Though I read that got tweaked, so I should probably take a look.
Underdark? worth it or just passing thru?
Mostly just passing through, but then I see the main upper Underdark area being similar to the main roads about ground; those tend to have thinner monster populations and people use them to pass between areas. Unless a troll spawn pops up somewhere, they're tougher than the normal Underdark spawns. There is also the lower Underdark areas which have a tougher challenge.
I think zons is good. I played it today, and yes there is a huge gap between first area and the hard stuff but it is two different areas. Maybe a different entrance or at least a warning sign hehe.
Well the first two spots are non-epic and is the oldest part of the area. The rest is upper teens/low epic and was added later. The two areas don't really blend with each other, and I think it's fine the way it is.
South Road tower - Ill look at . Most of those mobs are fairly generic so may need to play thru it a few times.
They're just ordinary fiends, about the same that are over in the Catacombs. That stuff has probably been like that sine the server went online so maybe it could use a bit of polish, I don't know.
Haddon Mirk seems to be a place that people dont want touched so not sure about that one.
I'd only suggest one change, make the wolves hostile to TC. I was in a party there the other night, and half of the people were TC and the wolves apparently belong to the Animal faction. So the stupid wolves attacked half the party while ignoring the other half. If they're supposed to be some kind of evil wolves, then putting them hostile to TC shouldn't be a problem.
Bargeld wrote:This concerns me... currently, when in enemy faction areas, you lose gp on death. Defending toons can gain gp and xp in the cradles (only gp is lost by the defeated raider). I've seen a couple toons hit 40 in relic defense. Don't take this away
Only gp? This server is getting soft. Used to be you'd lose items when defeated in enemy cities. And even earlier than that, you'd lose items any time you were pked but I think that was taken out because of griefers.
Daral0085 wrote:Similarly, I think changes to ancient wyrm road, bottomless pit, etc might be a good idea. As far as I know, these areas aren't near any major city, but the CR to difficulty ratio is never worth going there. Similarly with the Wold, the gargoyle road, archaeology camp and those eastern maps, although possibly AO people go there. Same thing with Angmar waste maps, although possibly MA people go there. I think these maps are pretty cool and I *wish* it was worth visiting them, but I honestly never do it unless I am taking a stroll with a lvl 40 just to check out the scenery.
The Wyrm Road I think is the way it is because it was one of the old routes from MA to Avendell. But now, it's the middle of nowhere when one takes MA's shortcuts and the dragon into account. And the mobs aren't worth going out that way because most of them are too weak. Also, the mezzoloths make the Ash Mountains tougher than they were.

Ancient Road should be left alone, that's the main route from AO to Avendell.

Angmar Waste is probably supposed to be a leveling spot for MA, similar to stuff like bandits and mid ranged undead. It's really not worth any other faction's time to go over there.

Here's the problem with Duskhaven. It's too small, and its of course a cleric's playground, but other builds dare not go there at night, however, Amazons should be a better place to cycle to during the day or night based on your class, but there is just too many Amazons. An adventuring party can too easily get overwhelmed and killed. The walk back is too long to come back and try again.

There needs to be a better daytime option.

(Assuming you wouldn't really hunt in there without a cleric anyhow. Its okay to have a bunch of Elder Vampires that a cleric can help ward, but Amazons will quickly overwhelm the party even with a cleric.)

Well, if giant mountain is "nerfed". Everyone will essentially have to roam into faction territories.

removed Trolls from the underdark since that spawn group had shamans in it. Should be a good spot for low level SL. I was looking at Duergar.. anyone go there? its like cr 9-13 and a cr 14-16 bosses. But lots of dmg types and shields may be hard solo..

Changed the mag creature spawn group in Ancient Road :The wold. lower cr group morein line with the rest of the road.

I think the trolls are pretty good for the cr. No push overs but doable. There are cave trolls and a king inside the cave that might be worth someones time..

If anything the Giants up top are more rounded now. The spirit stealer ogre spawns in more places and all of the stuff up there makes for some intersting matchups. You can say the easy xp was nerfed, but Id say it was spread around better. The Trolls are the in between of course. Are they harder then the high end giants?

Too many amazons in the lower area or the more epic area?

Did tweak the formian mobs to make them slightly easier but they may need more work for the myrmach and taskmaster. Maybe more cr downgrade.. Id like to keep the queen at 20 because she drops the planar link. So thats a tough one.

Haddon Mirk Wolves. Think all animals are TC friendly so its the same as attacking Yuan Ti with an AO in the party..

You may also notice Ive added more chests to some low-mid level spawns. We are missing lvl 21-29 chests though so Im going to have to figure out how to add those in.
