Re: Marathon Event
Well, i would like to say thankyou to both DM's involved (brandobaris and torm) and to all my fellow players that made this event a real blast !
While we had some troubles early which had to be fixed by splitting the 30+ ppl into two groups because 17 in party equaled xp for all but 18+ = no exp for number 18,19 etc all and all it was a top 20 hrs or so.
Thanks again, and im in for sure if and when this happens again ( how bout next weekend ? heheh)

Why would I want to count 12 hours twice? I’m perfectly capable of counting to 24, and while we’re at it, can someone go shoot named time zones. GMT+x is all we need!

They got to 40, shame I had to drop off to drop off at 2am GMT
Still got 16 levels out of it.

Re: Marathon Event
The event in screenshots...
It started slowly as we worked out the party-size bug.

Then gaze in amazement as I fight an ogre only in my starter rags! Good thing I was totally prepared!

Showing the room split into 2 groups.

Then, we took it outside, still climbing slowly up the levels.

New location! We descend upon Sunken Isle.

Then IoD.

And rounding up to lvl30 in Skara.

I had to log at that point, so only managed to get a lvl30 out of it, but not so bad for a days work, an ENTIRE days work.
Also, you may notice some textures, effects and models look different, my override folder is 500 megs and I'm using 'Nwshader' with many tweaks to get it looking right (to me) with distance blur, bloom lighting, etc...

Re: Marathon Event
If 20 hours strait doesnt break ones cyber addiction to NWN.. then there truely is no hope for us.
Many players were unable to make the full duration from the early start, due to RL conditions. But we didnt seam to have a shortage of late comers, the Eastside Regulators averaged 16 memebers. Though offten we were at 17, as was the Westside Stranglers, lead by our Boot Dodging Weeeeeaaaasel.
Since we split into two, it would be best if we split the two MVP awards, and voted for one in each group. They are MVP Offense, and MVP Support.
We also may wish to do the Most Likly To _______ nominations. Simply think of a finish to that, and the player/toon that would fit it. Such as Most Likly to shoot the other team.. which I think we can all agree on who that was. Unfortunatly I burned out my temperal lobe yesterday and am drawing a blank. And as the toon, was in both groups at one time or another, Im sure someone can provide the name.
Over all though out the stressfull day, both teams managed to stay in good spirits. Me tossing out humerous insults of the Varmet Variety and Weasel responding by sneaking across Brandos Barrier to tickel Zatharus ribs, from behind.
Only real drawback, of 34 staring players and the dozen or so that came in later as others had to leave. We only had one cleric. Who is a shoe in for Eastside MVP Support award, and likly to get votes from the Westside to, as she would help them out when we combined groups at end of level stages, or at the end when Eastside asscened to 40'hood first.
Brando promiced to Ban the first player to sugest we do this again, and since two players already did so, I feel somewhat safe in saying. If we did do it again, a sign up sheet would be a great addition. I think everyone, esspecially Brando were surprised on the turn out.
This thread should suffice for the MVP voting. Im gonna let my brains dejellify before casting mine.

Re: Marathon Event
if brando was a real man he'd do it 2 days in a row

Re: Marathon Event
Lol!
I doubt Brando would be willing to endure two days......If I remember correctly his last shout was "These guys are going to to reach 40, even if it kills them".
In fact, I'll nominate that as quote of the night.

Personally I suggest a 'most likely to get lost' mvp.

The two phrases I remember most out of that whole event were, "spawn some badgers for us" and "I want the cleric in my group"
