I've been asked to put together a list of our current hardware status and to start a wishlist/need list of parts and stuff to keep us running NS4/NS3 and to start thinking about NS5 hardware. I will keep adding to this as I get time and you can always email me or post in here with questions.
We accept donations of any kind. Cash helps pay the bills and buy emergency hardware in the event of a failure. Parts of any type are accepted and many users send in old boards, drives, chips etc when they upgrade. We scavange these and use what we can. Many employeers sell parts to their employees for cheap so be on the lookout for good deals at work, or from people you know. NS3/4 are old games and can run on older hardware so it doesn't have to be cutting edge.
So here it goes:
Current Hardware:
NS4 Prime
DFI Lanparty Board 2 1000Base T Nic ports
AMD Opteron 165 Overclocked to 2.5ghz
WD Raptor 37gig SATA 10,000 RPM drive
2 Gigs GSkill PC 5000 Ram
Generic Video
NS4 Dev Server
Asus Board
1000 Base T Nic Card
AMD 2800 XP CPU
1.5 Ghz DDR1 Ram
WD 80 Gig HD 7200 RPM IDE
Gigabit Switch backbone connecting the two machines on seperate subnet.
DLink Router connectng both to the Cable Modem
Suddenlink Cable Connecton 16meg Down 2 Meg Up.
Old UPS with dead battery
Those are the main NS4 machines. I have other personal workstations around the house but no spare parts.
As you can see the dev server is old and could stand to be replaced. Also we are lacking in the hard drive department.
Current NS4 Needs:
SATA 3.0 Hard Drives 80 Gig+ 7200 RPM
WD Raptor HD 37-72 Gig 10,000 RPM
Board+ CPU (Core 2 Duo 2ghz+)
DDR2 Memory 2 Gigs
450w+ Power Supplies with Quick connects. (Expensive to ship, so cash might work better) These blow up about once a year.
Gigabit Router with Wireless
Gigabit Switch
KVM
UPS - Very expensive to ship but current UPS has dead battery.
LCD Monitor 19inch
NS4 Reflection
Windows XP (Have Server 2k3, several permission issues led to using XP)
AMD 64 3500+ CPU 2220 MHz
ASUS A8N32-SLI-Deluxe MB
1 gig PC3200 DDR400 RAM
NVidia GeForce 6200 LE 512 mb Video Card
NVidia nForce Networking Controller
Dual Gigabit/ LAN Marvell® 88E8053 PCI-E Gigabit/ LAN controller
NVidia Raid 0 Dual SATA 3.0 ghz WD Raptor 37.5 gig 10,000 RPM Drives
Business Class Cable - 20 down / 2 up
Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router w/ Speedbooster
BFG 650 Watt Power Supply
APC Back-Ups XS 1500
Machine is dedicated to NS4 Server Operation.
NS5 Needs: (This list will change)
Multiple Core2 Duo or Xenon CPUs and boards with 2 gigabit ethernet ports
Server cases 2U or Standard ATX cases.
500w + Power Supplies
80 Gig+ 3.0 SATA Hds 7200 RPM - WD Prefered.
DDR2-3 Ram to match boards. 4 Gigs per server
Gigabit switch
Cat 6e Cable
Half Rack mounting hardware.
This set of servers can be done as multiple physical boxes or as one nice machine running several VM virtual machines. I would prefer the VM route as it is easy to move a box in the event of a failure.
Co-Hosting facility or donations for bandwidth.

As you can see we need various things to keep the ship afloat. Feel free to contact me with questions, or post here and many people will be able to answer.

Neversummer Hardware Status/Requests
Re: Neversummer Hardware Status/Requests
Just as a side note... the Opteron *was* overclocked to 2.5ghz... but since the last big crash its only be able to run at 2.01ghz... also, a dual core system would be great for NS4 because that would greatly reduce any lag that's experienced when we rebuild the module while people are playing.

Added mailing and paypal info.
yes I forgot we had to downclock the core. Time for a core2 duo.

Re: Neversummer Hardware Status/Requests
I have like 20-30 gigs of DDR2 that I don't need. Might have few motherboards but I doubt its worth shipping those from Europe. Its all NEW never used. Also have monitors and UPS, but that would cost more to ship then to buy I think. So. What do you say I send you some DDR2? Cant cost too much to ship!

Re: Neversummer Hardware Status/Requests
Yea send what you can. I can always sell what we dont need to buy other parts if that is ok.
What does it cost to ship a motherboard? It cant be that bad since they are light. If anything take the cpus off as mobos are cheaper. Maybe one large box might not cost much.

Re: Neversummer Hardware Status/Requests
No CPUs on them, all still in original packaging. Will go tomorrow to check my inventory and shipping costs.
