This discussion is stupid. The act was stupid. The "lawyering" that you're trying to accomplish is stupid. If I were you guys I'd just cut my losses and shut up now. You're not endearing the staff or the community to you.
Everyone understands that what you did was wrong. YOU knew that what you did was wrong. But as per the norm, you guys want to stretch the rules and test the limits, and *gasp* my gosh! You got your li'l hand smacked for it. Just like always.
The annoying part is you all act like this is a shocker, when you knew this would be the outcome, and if you didn't know, you were quite certain that this was a very VERY likely outcome.

crazy. i'll send you a pm of the names of your teammates that executed the same exact strategy just a few days ago. so careful with the 'holier than thou' tone. (unless its just rp). granted since it wasn't an event, and the dm's weren't watching and we didn't complain, i guess it didn't happen.

First off, what happened a couple days ago, wasn't during a relic event. YOU KNOW that there are going to be special considerations during an event.
Outside of an event, that stuff happens all the time where factions drop relics to red/unallied factions. Do I think that's okay, not really but I've done it too. WAY back in the day when SL was dominating relics I used to drop relics to AO and RK from my NC toons. Do you guys forget so quickly? Or how about Mental raiding TC with his TC ranger/rogue/sd. People complained but nothing was done because while this activity was frowned upon, it happened outside and event and nothing was done. IT's happened a lot, and everyone is complicit in this strategy.
BUT NOT DURING AN EVENT!!!!! I'm acting holier than thou because I'm completely disgusted with you guys trying to argue a position purely to be right, rather than to contribute to the community. You guys are ticked because multi faction groups raid you all the time. BUT guess what you control the relics all the time, so that is going to happen. BUT NOT DURING AN EVENT!!!!!

which has made this one of the coolest events in a long time. to actually have a three way or a four way battle has been very cool and a nice change of pace for us - which is why its disappointing that we have three missing it.
anyway. we've got a real nice finale shaping up. good luck to you guys. nice work today. we miss played it obviously by keeping our own the whole time.

Even before when multi faction people were raiding in concert they weren't droppin' relics across faction boundaries. And you know why? Cuz that would have been construed as cheating and people would have been given a vacation.
IF that had happened in the past during RELIC EVENTS, then you're arguments would have a leg to stand on cuz there would be past precedent. BUT it didn't, and you all are continually trying to apply regular everyday relic warfare as precedent in a SPECIAL RELIC EVENT context.
But yeah it has been a lot of fun so far. One more session to go, g'luck to everyone.

IF that had happened where relics were dropped to unallied factions, people would have been given a vacation. As stated before, doing it even among allied factions was considered in poor taste. I've always taken that to mean that it was illegal in relic events. After last event, where allies dropped relics to each other repeatedly, most assumed that it was considered ok.
However if unallied factions had done it in the past, Its safe to assume that everyone who was offended by it would have screenied it. I know I would have screenied it, and cried foul.
Burrahobbit is on the phone with me right now and wants me to write, "LIAR LIAR PANTS ON FIRE. That's a blatant falsehood."
And I'd have to agree with him, unless you're discussing by purely the letter of the law (tween allied factions), and not necessarily as it relates to this context where a relic was xferred tween unallied factions.

I don't remember that happing Rainswept I know we did all raid but and I know relics were taken form AO and caped in SL (4?) but I'm fairly sure that only SL plays took and ran them. There were such as small number of caps last event I'm fairly certain of this. Most of the time your defence didn't even let us get to the cradle let alone get any thing out of Sleeth

i missed the one that you capped with menelandro. i didn't even intend to post this or anything. more of a "look how bad we got beat" snapshot. but i am kind of tired of you guys saying that you don't when you do. i don't necessarily want to have this considered illegal because i think the teamwork is cool. grats to you guys. owned us in round 3 for sure.

I asked Dumathoin about this before the event. He said it was okay.
I have always imagined that when shamed prepares for relic events, he grabs his bull horn, he finds his Napoleon hat, and he settles in for a weekend of barking orders and generally pissing off everyone in the tc/nc coalition. - Burrahobbit

and yet the subject at hand here is not about allied factions xferring relics, but unallied factions xferring relics. It has become an accepted norm for allied factions to drop relics to each other, always has been an accepted norm.
It wasn't originally during the first two relic events. It was against the rules, DM's stated in shout that every faction is out for themselves.
But then the rule riding and stretching came along and now here we are.
thanks for taking the time to screenie what I already said was being done, and taking my quote out of context though.

Meaning that this is an accepted norm now for this to happen.
I'm understanding that people got banned for transferring relics from an MA toon to an RK toon. Are those allied factions? Of course not. That's the crux of this case and the reason why this discussion is silly.

How many times must we go over this, and if i recall correctly, allies can put relics into allies cradles now, yes ?
When allies help allies, that is pretty normal relic war type activity. Allies dropping relics for their allies is not encouraged, but being that they are 'allies' , it does seem logical that it will happen, yes?
On the other hand, an enemy dropping a relic for an enemy is really cheesy, especially when the enemy who takes the handoff of the relic actually allowed that pc to steal the relic from their allied cradle uncontested. Kind of like a back alley deal was made or something. Which, if RP'd , that would be kinda cool, but Defender of the Relic ain't much RP now, is it? It's a pvp event. The keyword here, 'Event'. All the staff wants, is to keep an even footing for every city, and do our best to keep cheesiness to a minimum.
All in all, we are doing the best we can do to keep from having an arm's length list of rules created.
The newer players really seem to enjoy this intense pvp. It would be great if we could keep these events as simple as possible, and the only way to do that, is for the veteran players to be able to explain (in easy to understand terms) what the guidelines are for Relic Warfare.
I realize that some of you players would like to see an extensive list of rules put down in black and white for this event. That way you can study them, and see how they can be slightly bent or twisted to meet your goals. No...just, no.
Here's a rule for you, write it down, eh.
Rule of Thumb : Whilst playing your character, you catch yourself laughing and thinking, 'Heh...I proly should not be doing this.' When that happens, stop doing whatever it is that your doing.
