The point was made that do not take your prized weapons into pvp if you can ill afford to lose it. There have been encounters in which the victem was not looking for a fight nor participating in relic wars. I have been stunned by an SD who thereafter repeatedly attempted to disarm until my character was dead. It is not always the case that a disarm encounter was foreseeable. As the time I referred to, I just walked into Beryn on way to dragon for a ride to some other long forgotten destination. Was a long time ago and only reason I meantioned is simiply state: not all disarm encounters are forseeable, sometimes a person finds themselves in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Before someone asks; no I didn't lose that weapon.
Disarming

Re: Disarming
Ya, I can see your point. i would always have my weapons in my categories and quick change them so it would happen less often.
Re: Disarming
I'm kindof confused by the Dev response to this thread. One dev says abusing the known bug is considered "exploiting the engine" while the other dev says it's a known issue so deal with it or move on. I understood that the script isn't working properly and there may not be anything that can be done with it but I also think that if it isn't working properly then it at least needs to be publicly addressed so there can be some guidelines implemented. After having seen a low level character disarmed by a 40 and having 6 out of 7 weapons go to the ground in one fight I personally think this issue should at least be discussed.

Re: Disarming
I don't see much to discuss.
No hook on the feat outside linux but it's possible to port to win according to virusman, install vcpp version less than 2008 for free from MS (or use another c compiler and rewrite the project files) and get writing (all nwnx sources are public but you'll need windb or something to find the memory addresses used, they differ from linux server). No other option but to grab on unequip/unacquire item script hooks. Those aren't 100%, and there's no other way I can think of to determine if an item was lost in combat (go the other way and assume any hand equippable item acquired is the result of disarm leaves other holes to fill and creates new annoyances).
We could set the player limit to something like 10, but it's still possible to lag out the server then anyway.
If the dms want to deal with it, that's Tep's call.
