why not haste pots?

i kind of understand the invis, because if this is a you die your done thing someone could just stand in the background and sponge exp without having to worry about dying until everyone else was dead.

haste i can see would actually help giving the 1 att per round and the ac and speed. . .

(High LA build hard to leve) uses invis to not be seen. Haste are for running faster, thus not getting hit if built for AC... If someone wanted to be the 1st person for items, they could make a druid of some sort that uses panther form and chugs invis to not get hit.

your running through the formians...

they cast see invis, invis purge, have lots of choke points to get you bottled up, can make blind attacks on you when you run past inivs, and are a much higher cr than you should be doing at lvl 1.

good luck with those haste/invis pots ;)

Level 1 event

Post by Tsavong »

DM_Kim wrote:So you want a level 1 event...
I would like to thank Kim for setting up the level one event yesterday and Shamed for helping out. I had great fun participating in it. It was good fun with a good turn out of eager level ones ready to face the most deadly mobs a level one could face, well may be not but it sounds good.

After some delays the race started just be for the rest at 1am GMT (8pm Eastern I think) reset where we all but Elite (PWnD) died on the first screen. So Kim decided to restart the event after the rest. So after the rest the race begun again this time more than one of us made it past the first screen wooo! What followed was a gruelling run across many dark underground parts of the realm where one by one are numbers got smaller and smaller. But the people who made it though got level after level. Shamed did a good job picking up the dead who were left behind.
When we reached the Hive for the first time we were all level nine now we were told that it would be a race from there out into the Wastes of Angmar and back in to the Hive the winner being the first to tuch the portal to the RK nexus. Having made it this far I decided to down one of the four haste pots I had and as soon as Kim shouted “GO!” I was off. I made it out of the Hive first and back in then the haste wore off I managed to down another and I ran on into a army of Formians. Some how I was able to dodge my way though them and get to the portal first, then the Formians closed in and after a fight they cut me down...

Here is a screen shot of the start...

Your most welcome.

Great SS of the event.

I'd like to thank everyone who participated. The turn out was terrific. Congrats to Shimrra for winning the grand prize, well deserved.

After the event some great suggestion came in on how to improve upon it. So much so that I very much plan on hosting another level 1 event like this. For those who made it through all the zones that was some of the fastest leveling you have even done. :D

I also would like to thank Shamed for assisting me. His help was most valued.

Keep your eyes to the forums and ears to the Shouts. Never know when an event will pop up.

It was a lot of fun. One major suggestion is a clarification of the rules, tho. Apparently all but one person understood there to be a limit of 10 total non-heal potions, while a different interpretation caused one player to have 10 EACH of every non-heal potion. Probably just a misunderstanding, but it certainly caused a big disparity among participants.

After having seen how it went, I would suggest requiring each area to be cleared of mobs before progressing. Often the zone was completely impassable due to the amount of monsters clogging it.

It was as stated.

"Each contestant can carry 20 heal pots of their choosing 10 pots each of anything else of their choosing."

so 20 heals. 10 invis, 10 haste, 10 cat's, 10 str etc... 10 pots each of anything else...

Always, if in doubt ask.

I don't think there were any misunderstandings no one broke the rules and DM Kim checked everyone be for the event to make sure we were all with in the rules so no one could have.

Also I disagree with Rainswept I think the mobs in the zones added to the excitement as you didn't know if you would make it though them.

Maybe make an event where you need to carefully make a nth level toon, which is dropped WAY out of its league, and survive the longest (PKing allowed). I.e. level 10s dropped into top of mountain, fighting Grebnor.

Level 14s dropped into Efreets. Level 16s dropped into Jin...

Level 20s dropped into a PWnD raiding party
