Newbie to Neversummer, looking for advice.

Post by Zynthar »

Hello, I'm kinda new to Neversummer in the since that I've seen it before, and played on it before years ago (don't think I ever signed up on the forums though) and just finally got back into NWN, since NWN2's multiplayer is lacking =/

Anyway, I'm sitting here thinking about what kind of character I'd want to make first off instead of just jumping in, creating a character/build I find I don't like, and leaving it there on my character list to rot. Would a Monk/Bard(or Sorcerer)/RDD be any good? Obviously that means my character will be in the Ancient Ones, seeing as RDD is their prestige class.

Also, is it true Drow don't have any allignment restrictions? I did of course check the faction/race pages, but I want to make certain it's not just a typo that was missed :) Because it seems odd that drow have no restrictions (hai drizzt chaotic good clones) while other things like tieflings have none.

I'm hoping I'll have a good time here :)

Welcome, Zynthar.

Make yerself a pure barbarian with heavy armor and one-handed weapon/shield, and go to town! You'll get the ingame experience yer looking for, with that.

Welcome back.. Kotter.

Monk/Bard not possible.. no alignment shifting.

Personally for a first toon, I like a cleric build. The spells are varried, allowing for lots of experimentiaon to learn the server diffrances. and the spells fill lots of gaps in equipment, something a new player is devoid of aside from possible donations. And if you do find you want to go a diffrent route with a cleric build. A lvl 20-30 cleric is perfict for keeping your toons supplied with rd scrolls and potions.
Twig (TSS) - Twig [CLAD] - Twigs -Fury- - SyNfully Rotted Twig - Twig'lee -Down Under- - Twig'zilla

Fergus Glonshire [FoN] - Sakij Lovac [FoN] - Zatharus Rivermoon (TSS) - Bumble (TSS) - Body built for SyN

Oh, right! I completely forgot about the whole "monks must be lawful, and bards can't be lawful" thing =/
