Not sure if those spells are unlimited but if so that's a ton of damage to sling around with no Spell Resistance against it. Did I see that Ice Storm is still non party friendly so it will still hit friendly guards and party members? If anything that tends to limit the effectiveness of this spell more then anything else.Lokey wrote:- Rakshasa S-24 D-39 C-32 Weapon-Mage Staff.
Greater spell breach, Ice Storm (caster level = shifter level), true sight.
Immune to spells below level 9, 4 to listen, spot, search. 2AC.
Ice Storm

From the Shifter Topic.

No SR would be the biggy. That + no friendly fire + area damage...
At shifter 17 it isn't that impressive (6d6 bludgeon + 6d6 cold)--get better mileage out of harpy song.

Re: Ice Storm
After thinking about, dealing with this change these are my thoughts
I have no problem with the damage changes...
I have no problem with the AoE, damage type or anything of that nature
but honestly, the no SR check is over zellous
it gives easy outs to cross classing mages to bypass SR
and why should a lvl 40 52 SR cleric have to worry about
ice walkers?
None the less, i believe a SR check should be put back
into place, this spell was strong before, now its overdone.
I commend the effort being put into this server
and as i dont post to often i'll take this time to thank
all the dev's for you time and effort you have put
into makeing this a fantastic server to play on.

Ice storm is still a great spell
But SR needs to come into play with it
Thanks for your time

Re: Ice Storm
Considering the rather low damage it does, is no SR really that bad?

Re: Ice Storm
its horrible...considering his sr52 cleric got messed up by some ice walkers....which tells me he was power lvling on the mountain and got killed, even though his lvl 40 buffed him with 52sr and he shouldn't have died........at all...

No my friend your wrong
was useing it as an example
I dont even have a lvl 40 cleric or druid
and i dont appreciate being mocked
Now as far as damage goes, Ice storm does plenty of damage
My lvl 19 crafter mage has enough firepower to drop a 40
and could, which is why i made my thoughts known
None the less, how you wish to handle the spell is up to the staff
this post was on here for the purpose of peoples opinions
and i gave mine
Mamba...

i'm sorry for mocking you, its just that from your example.....
only a extremely high lvl cleric/druid can attain 52SR
ice walkers (that cast alot of ice storms) are found mostly in the low end areas
the only way for your char to be in danger from said ice walker would mean he was power buffed by a high lvl cleric/druid in order to aid his lvling experience
said high lvl cleric/druid would have more than enough hp to withstand an ice walker casting ice storms...way before they killed you
just observations in your example
Re: Ice Storm
A. I don't believe Mamba ever said his toon was killed.
B. It is possible to run across Ice Walkers in more than one location on ones way to the planar access point in Grezor's lair.
Just observations in response to your observations.

Re: Ice Storm
i believe there was an example of someones 30ish cleric being killed on a rescue run on the mountain by a group of ice walkers spamming ice storms
The truth is just an excuse for those with a lack of imagination.

Good Day!, I Said GOOD DAY !
Re: Ice Storm
walkers almost always gets stuned by hammer of ther gods, and a summon will tear em a part like a pinjata, any one who have ever followed a low lvl group ut there should know this... But there are some toons that dont come together til late lvls, I have a few builds that I'm thinking of that will be realy great at lvl 40, but it's dangerous to play a build that wil blow for 35 lvls b4 he rocks...Fezz wrote:The owner of that toon needs to head to the nearest devil angel immediately

Why would I want to count 12 hours twice? I’m perfectly capable of counting to 24, and while we’re at it, can someone go shoot named time zones. GMT+x is all we need!

Re: Ice Storm
I think ice storm is fine the no SR is not a big problem as it dose bludge so just fling on some DR to cut that part down or a dr spell like stoneskin.
As for ice walkers being a problem my caster cleric could easily take them down with inflicts and later harms using my summon or another spell to finish them off..... oh what fun my cleric was at that lower lvl.... and still is
