guildmate behavior?

Post by disastro »

earlier today i was in a mixed-guild group with some pwnds/tss/hns, tearing up the planes and having a generally good time. at one point havok and roflstomper (pwnd tagged) joined our party, saw where we were, dropped party came over and then proceeded to kill all the non pwn toons repeatedly (all while we were partied with other pwnds)

after the second consecutive disarm and kill (others in the group were killed 4 times in separate zones) the fun factor stopped and i logged for a while.

for my part there have been times where an ally has done a drive-by on a pwnd i was teamed with (hey its part of the game and I'm ok with that). in each case i interceded to keep the party rolling (and in every case the kill was limited to once, usually with a rez). I have also received the same courtesy from pwnds while we were partied. we can always red=dead later.

as i'm not sure of the pwnd leadership structure, my question to the pwnd management is: is this kind of behavior OK with you guys? namely having tagged toons join a mixed party for the purposes of finding out where the non guild toons are, then using that information to spam kill party mates to the maximum limit of harrassment.

first off i killed you 3 times. twice in Ragnars room then outside. then you attacked me so all is fair.

and i was asked if i wanted to join there group and as i joined i saw non ao/rk poeple i dropped and said over ts hey i dont wanna party with them and was headed to dorfs anyways.

if you feel i did you ounjust on the pk rule then ss it and send it to a dm.

and the last pk was you running from me as i was trying ot kill you and you zoned so i followed.

I would recommend you edit this and post it in the PWnD guild forums.

Doesnt really belong in general discussion.

Edit- Directed at disastro not havok

Why would I want to count 12 hours twice? I’m perfectly capable of counting to 24, and while we’re at it, can someone go shoot named time zones. GMT+x is all we need!

i'm not sure how often you do this kind of thing but you must be talking about someone else. at no point did i attack either of you. after i got rezzed i left the zone. then you guys followed and killed me again. then i logged.

I do want to give thanks however to the other pwnds who did rez and did their best to keep some good times rolling.

this is not a matter of rules or lawyering or dms. This is just a game and i have no animosity towards anyone, i'm cool with however people want to roll. my question is simply if this kind of thing ok with PWnDs for their guildmembers, because it may affect how i want to have fun in the future. I dont want to party up only to have that used against me at a point where i dont have time or inclination to do the red=dead thing.

edit: as this event involved 4 guilds and at least one non tagged toon i thought it would be most appropriate to discuss here, however if the dms feel its better discussed elsewhere i'll repost (or ask to have this thread moved if its possible)

Well in my proccess of leveling i have been guild atleast once by all enemys guilds many times by TSS and bu un-tagged toons.

This represnts the war the server should be in. I wish there was a script they could/would put in that kept enemy factions from partying with each other in the first place.

thats an interesting idea however i feel this server does not have enough population to make that a fun proposition across 3 alliances. it would be hard to get a party of decent levels together if you were forced to stick to faction lines. before the wipe it was hard enough to get a party going, i expect once people get their first few toons levelled up it will be once again.

That might be funny for the non casual player that has a group of people they can party with all the time.
For me the charm of this server was that you could party with everyone, everyone no matter what faction was friendly. If you met someone lvling in the same place as you you'd team up.You could make chars in different factions and not end up disliking any faction or group, they were all fair and fun to play with.
Now after the whipe that seems to have changed quite a bit.
Further changing it so you can only party with your own faction would for quite a few mean they're stuck lvling solo almost all the time. Which ruins quite a bit of the fun.

Ssshhhhh- That is what was wrong with NS4 before the wipe. Its sounds to me like you would fit in a bit better with the 3.5 play style where everyone is friendly unless your in the arena.

NS4 is a server at war. The idea is that everyone who is red is trying to kill you and people like you. The problem with some groups or guilds is that since its an "action" server they arent forced to roleplay this.

The reason there are a few places that have alliances is because they have like minded ideals while other factions might have opposite points of view.

I played 3.5 for a long time too yes, but I dont see why you cant have both. A bit of a friendly server where people can enjoy themselves and level up together. And then when you're 40 you can have all the warring you want for the relics.
Hell you can already have wars and fights earlier between guilds, but leave the unallied people out of it.
You say that was what was wrong with it, for me it was one of the main attractions. Actual polite, fair and friendly people playing, quite a relief after some other games :)
