Also, wasn't my plan - I am FoN, the guild of sweetness and light, law, goodness and mercy (read the wiki). I just thought SOME people might be doing that. 0(:-D

You could be chasing evil folk through there right? Just cause your good and sweet doesnt mean you dont smite the crap out of the bad guys.

Actually it does, a truly good character gives the evil one every chance possible... not just run up and smite.

Actually it doesn't. Lawful good means that all violaters of the law or associates of those who violate the law are subject to receiving a smite or at least a couple good wallops, without questions having to be asked.

It seems that alot of PPL do not know how to play their chosen alignment.

Yeah i find neutral is the best, because then you can do anything and its inside your alignment, just blame it on the way the dice rolled that day.

Considering the nature of the server, why is this even a discussion?
I put the IO in socIOpath!

I believe that is a very fine question, maybe the thread should go back to the point.

Meta game ish?

The thread here is about doubts regarding the portal scrolls in their application. I don't see how a discussion about meta gaming is going back on topic... I would open a new thread if it is so important to you.

mgrjebbo wrote:Well honestly isnt this hole thing an over complicated solution to a non issue? I do not like the portal system for the sole reason that it makes the server less NS4 and more NS3.5. People dont run anywhere anymore. They dont take the time to explore, they just port here port there.
It's difficult to comment on the portal system for precisely this reason.
I don't know how the server "should" be.
Death express was handy.
There's lots of other things that need attention on NS4 that wouldn't change the nature of the server if they were finalised or resolved or completed.

Players running through lower CR areas spawning mountains of stuff just to run by into the next area doesn't seem like a good idea though either, probably causes lag and server resource usage that could be avoided.

Having to run all over the place just seems like a waste of a players time as well.

could the functionality of these riftwell scrolls be modified ? or is the whole method set the way it is and that's that.

A quick way to return to our bind point that didn't mean death and doesn't necessarily involve meta-gaming.

Perhaps progression could then be simplified by saying once a bind point is "known" a scroll can take the player there.

I wish I could have been involved in the proposed solution before it was implemented, I got LOTS of ideas on possible solutions :(

ohh well.

ohh btw I still like to explore, it's just tricky to find like-minded people on NS4 and since it's almost impossible to solo it doesn't happen often, could be that my builds just aren't soloing material though ;)
