You can only add one enchantment on a weapon. Being it greater weapon, bless weapon, darkfire or flame weapon ie.

oh heh, i forgot about that. i dont play clerics often as you might tell :P

but still, those factions with clerics/mages who arent AO/LA still have an advantage over the others, being able to choose 2 different element types they want to be enchanted with.

I really hate it, for a NC toon darkfire is now useless. what more needs to be said the change basically takes the spell out of the useful catagory for anything but pvp and it isn't much use there.

Well that seems pretty overstated... cold damage is better than fire in many situations. There's plenty of existing areas where cold damage is preferred, and of the new areas coming out, I don't see why cold damage is any worse than fire.

Clarification, if you play in character in NC than you are battling undead almost all the time up until you start going to Frostdale, and there you battle undead and other cold resistant things. An improvement on fire plane isn't much of a compensation for all the other encounters that are now still tougher and slower, remember these things are high HP and crit immune.

It will encourage more mountain runs and the like as you try to level.

I don't like it, I think it wasn't broke and now it sort of is, but it isn't a huge deal just a big disappointment to low level clerics. Flame weapon really isn't an option for us.

The undead around NC are affected by coldfire (i like the name), when I tested it. It hits them fine for damage. When you get to higher level what cleric doesn't rely on their mass heal and healing circle and turn undead to dispatch undead over melee anyway. I think the change is perfect, I hated fire damage.

It would appear that it has been changed again. Am I understanding this correctly, that darkfire is once again reverted to its original code, however only different when prayed for?

I believe (and please correct me if i'm incorrect) the change means that if the cleric does not worship a god (ie. their deity choice is blank) then they get standard darkfire, and if they do have a designated deity, it will then cast the faction specific spell.

Just to add more confusion, the modification mentioned where it requires a diety choice before you get faction specific darkfire is not in effect on reflections.

Even more specific. If your character did not choose a diety upon creation but then decides to pray aloud to his faction specific deity, does that then give him or her access to faction specific dark fire?

If you have chosen a Diety for your Faction on creation or have been blessed by a God I believe. But there is a good chance that Reflections never got updated. When i play reflections that happened almost every update
