east isn't down

I got a few PMs saying that East is down. It's up. The IP just changed, so you have to look for it in the PW Action list on Gamespy.

IP changes aren't reflective of stability.

Crashing for several hours and then coming up with a different ip generally indicates stability issues. Thanks

Coming up with a different IP is a normal side effect of not having purchased a static IP. Dynamic IPs are the norm for connections. Its why we have URL's (Universal Resource Locator). Being down for severeal hours and coming back with a new IP usually indicates it came back right on schedule and YOU didnt notice it for a few hours.

Personally I'm on a cable connection and my IP changes roughly every 30 days. However the 2 URLs that point to my system always point to my servers regardless of what IP I happen to be assigned at the moment.

Wow, thanks. It did work. As a side note I tried that last night and it wasn't there, but was this morning. I guess it just needed ten minutes or so to 'find' the server when I tried it then.
