Also, why build a dragon? There are so many around now that it is easy to find one for your party.

4ge (and Machina :D )

All the points are valid and I don't disagree with them one bit. Dragons can be a big pain in the butt to play. I've got several that I really like, including my favorite 64 DC stunner (Only real option for building a toon with Stunning Fist IMHO) But these disadvantages are in playing a Dragon, not an actual in game vulnerability of the class and toon.

What are the in game weaknesses of a Dragon well built or otherwise? Magic? I'll bet a 26M/14 Druid with a few Improved SR would be a unbelievable tank with a 63 ab.

I'm not advocating the complete nerfing of Dragons. Make them vulnerable to something in game. As players, we should have to think a little.

Maybe I just miss my old DwD tank. *sigh*

Eh, the players who want to think do and are out there exploring odd/rare builds.

Of course, our successful experiments rapidly become standard builds.

If we nerfed every build that became popular among the people who don't know how to build or don't feel like thinking through builds themselves (this is not a flame--like most people, I learned building through imitation until I knew enough to venture out on my own ideas).we would've nerfed pretty much all the good builds by now, since they've all been a flavor of the month at some point.

I'm sorry Yeti, I certainly didn't mean to exclude you :)

Excellent comments and commentary. 4ge might tell you I'm a compulsive arguer and typically would take the opposing view on almost any topic. I'm miswired that way.

Time to go back to building my Ranger/Wizard/Harper Scout two handed Time Stop Blender.

Assuming the dragon doesn't heal (which is a good assumption among all the honorable PvPers on MW), a well built cleric, archer, or sorc could take out a dragon... so there's 3 in game things that can take 'em.

For PvM, suddenly going flatfooted (or "popping a squat") in a good swarm of demon dwarves tends to be pretty deadly as well, as Machina pointed out.

It's Twilight where I go FF in a mob and die in like three seconds.

I have to disagree with forge when he says they dont do much damage, they do more damage than many other builds. When i use my dragon, i tend to do damage between 90 and 130 on most creatures, there are of cause creatures like G1 and other bosses i do less damage, G1 between 20 and 40 but then again all other builds do the same amount of damage, the rest (which ain't many) is between 50 and 100. I dont know how the damage is with bullet proof monk gloves.

No offense, but that says more about your other builds than it does dragons.
