Broken spells: storm of vegeance, creeping doom

Post by Arawindor »

That's been confirmed on some builds. I made a char 1 ftr/38 cleric/1 monk, zen archer. The storm of vegeance and creeping doom were working great till some high lvl which can't remember (perhaps the 37th when I took a lvl as monk?!) thereafter I saw this happening:

creeping doom: deals dmg just the first round
storm of vegeance: it seems check for saves once every 10 rounds or even more, so basically it deals no dmg

I underline that they would work great at lower lvls (damaging every rounds). Another player made a similar build (38 lvls cleric, 1 ftr, 1 monk at the 37th) and he got spells working correctly.

The issue is happening on some druid builds even.

I tried to unequip all items and fire the spells on low lvl mobs but nothing happened. Can't say if it's the char bugged or something wrong with the spells script. Please can a developer/DM have a look at it since this issue makes those build rather unplayables? The character is "Agalon Guradian of Light"....thank

Edit: I started over a new char, 4 lvls as fighter and 16 as cleric (zen archer, greater focus on evocation), creeping doom is broken, once it's been casted it deals damage at the very first round only ;( however if creatures leave the area and re enter it, dmg applies again...

Made more tests:

- creeping doom fires whenever a mob enter the spell area of effect or every 8/10 rounds if cought inside
- storm of vegeance fires just once, probably at 10th round

wonder if that's intended or it's a bug...

Hey Pros. I rewrote creep a little while ago for Fang (it's a bit less cheesy but still pretty cheesy), thought that worked as announcement thread.

How AoE spells work has changed throughout the patches. Doesn't the continuing effect of storm bounce on mind spell immune? I never used much, maybe tep has.

Creeping Doom has been that way for as long as I remember. Standard tactic is to run in and out with the mob chasing you. It's very effective.

Storm of Vengeance isn't used against the higher mobs but can be useful against lower lvls. It's not used much so I'm not sure how it behaves.
