NS Armor Problem

I have a warriors deed, but cannot remove any armor from the coffer. It simply says that "item cannot be dropped" or something like that.

A little background. We did a DWP run last night, and for the first time in 7 attempts that I have been in, we succeeded. When we rolled for who gets the parts, I won, but there was a misunderstanding and someone else took them. When we cleared everything up, he went and exchanged the parts for the deed and dropped it for me. Is it somehow tied to him? He didn't think he'd even be able to drop it, but it appeared on the ground after he thought it disappeared, so for all we know a DM was intervening anyway.

So, what I have is a bard, with a warriors deed for fighter armor and no ability to take it out of the coffer. I certainly have a 40th level soaktank DD that would love the fighter armor even if I can't get things switched up to get the cleric or bard armor I preffered.

So, what I am wondering is, is the warriors deed tied to a toon? If not, is there some restriction on toon class taking armor not specific to them? If not, is there just any known bugs in 3.5 that would prevent me from taking the armor?
