NWN party invites gone?

Recently I have found that Party Invites don't pop up on my screen. I have to see the invite in the text on the right, and goto player page to accept or type /accept. Several times peeps have sent invites and now think I'm ignoring them.

Did some searching and found this as an answer:

It's as simple as going into the NWN.ini file and changing party invites=no to party invites=yes.

??? What's the mystery here?
