Are Perishing Arrows going to Stay?

Post by Rocco_ns3 »

Just wondering if Perishing arrows are going to stay? Cause I will start making AA's to solo anywhere straight away.

500 points of unpreventable non crit damage per hit rocks and I will break that in no time. :P

As of right now there are no plans on getting rid of the Pershing arrows.

Don't hate the player, hate the game 8)

If you can't solo Starfall, EC run or Gypsies without ultra uber arrows, then you are drinking on the job [woot] or have a flaw in you character comcept :P

These will just make those runs easier  , and give you the ability to solo like a fiend DWP and Twilight

just be happy you're not heavily invested into the pvp server with these arrows. :(

they take the biggest challenge available (pvp) and turn it into no-challenge. at least it would cost you lots of money to solo the big game bosses... most players drop in 1-2 hits.

The arrows are being reevaluated by your devs.

There goes my 1 Wizard/38 cleric/1 Arcane Archer Zen Archery build

Hell, I'll build him anyway, by the time Fang gets a free moment from the kid to think about it, I'll have 6 of everything on the server, WHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA

Hmm, maybe I shouldn't have asked, might just make them ban it quicker :(

Me and my big mouth

haha. I am glad to hear they are being evaluated Fang. With my Dex bard and a low 23 UMD I've used the arrows and they are simply wrong. As I stated in a post int eh Server forums it reminds me of Pacifc Pre-Epic when I could solo G1 in nothing but Boots of Speed and Tangus bracers with my Wizard.... Wasn't a pretty site. :P

I do think that a dedicated AA should indeed have a boost in their damage output. As it stands without the Pershing arrows it doesn't make much sense to play an AA over a STR fighter. They do about the same damage yet the STR fighter has a lot better chance of living through a mobs beatings. I do not want the AA's nerfed and am not trying to get them that way. However, I feel that the whole community agrees that those arrows are over powered.

I do not play on the PVP server and the arrows are already starting to make the mob stupid easy. I can't imagine what the PVP server is going through and I do indeed feel for them.

good news on the re-eval indeed. I do think that archers in general have problems: in order to do "triton weapon" damage you have to spam goop runs, unlike everybody else.

however if someone knows how to get heaps of triton-class arrows without having to run the goops I'd be more than happy to be reeducated. :)

The answer lies in The Decision. Take the arrows that she sells and jack them up in damage by making them do something like 30 straight damage in each elemental and phyisical damage group. Get rid of all the bonuses they have to diffrent races of mobs and add the other elemental damages they are missing. That would make them pretty sick but would allow normal resistance to take affect.

You then make those arrows where only an AA or Ranger of substantial levels can even buy them. That way no one just drops 10 levels in to get the special arrows. You make them no drop so some moron like my Bard :P can't UMD them.

Then simply delete the scripted arrows.

This would allow everyone to still use the Triton arrows while leaving the hard core AA's and Rangers have their special place to buy as many arrows as they can at one time.

If 30 straight damage isn't enough jack it up. Not sure what the min max is on that but know it can be done.

I'm sure the devs are already looking at all this though. Just my two gold's worth. :)

triton arrows iirc only drop 500 per goop (and you cant have more than 1 goop at a time...) so I'd suggest something better than that for everyone else who'd like to pack a bow (pershing question aside).

ellard arrows are nice, but do noticeably less damage than the average triton (recall that the crit range on bows is very narrow and can not be improved to the extent of any other weapons in the game).

For what the Triton arrows are I think they are great for all non AA and Ranger types. They do great damage for us non Archer types. Other than shooting at mobs that are isolated and can't be gotten to with a sword or spell how often do you use the bow? Except for maybe Arigon on an EC run or something. All my fighter toons have a bow to lure mobs with, but, my damage is coming from my melee. I don't need to do mass cool damage with a bow. That is for AA's and Rangers to do and they should indeed excel at it and all others should pale in comparison. Of course not to the extent that the Pershings are at. :P
