Hello all
After a turbulent week of exploding PC's (woe is me), hair pulling and expense, I have my games rig running again, im now using a cheep nividia 8800gs as an interim graphics card (until the parts for my new uber pc comes), along with a 2.4 core duo processer and 4 gigs of pnk ram, NWN2 runs like a dream and CoD 4 is great but im having problems with NWN1(where i spend the must time playing), it seems to run very jerky. Has any one else ran the game on a 8800gs and had similar problems, Im using XP as an os.
Has any one got any tips or solutions to make the game run smoother. its playable but i miss the way it used to play.

I guess the first thing most people say is make sure you've updated all your drivers... this maybe a long shot but what keyboard do you have? I had a problem similar to yours and it was my keyboard that was causing the trouble

Why would I want to count 12 hours twice? I’m perfectly capable of counting to 24, and while we’re at it, can someone go shoot named time zones. GMT+x is all we need!

Thanks for the ideas guys, but its a null issue now as my new gaming pc parts have landed and the new 8800gts card doesnt seem to have the same problem as the 8800gs carddid , so as my old pc is now my brothers new pc.....its his problem now.

FYI you may try checking the /NeverwinterNights/NWN/nwnplayer.ini file
and look for :
[Game Options]
..
Single Players Enforce Legal Characters=0
Client CPU Affinity=1
as NWN1 does not like dual core machines. If you don't have that entry then add it.
Also while youre at it if you are both playing on the same connection it is a good idea to change the default client port on one of the machines to :
[Profile]
..
ShowMessageOftheDay=0
Client Port=5122
to avoid confusing the server and bugging your toons due to a known NWN bug. 5121 is the server port so you can use anything higher than that ( 5122, 5123..)
