had lots of skill pts which i like, but neither spellcasting or bashing were overly effective. good fun tank for some parties though.

Well, if you ever find that character sheet, perhaps you will post it here:

I have started a thread for my favorite builds, hoping that others will post their character there too.

Am I missing something?

I can't think what one more level of Sorcerer is going to gain you at this point, other than a slightly longer duration on a few spells. You do know that you max out your Sorcerer feats at 38th level, don't you?

Or, were you talking about something else?

when you max out your tumble your ac goes up which means some monsters will hit you less which means your shields do less damage... when done correctly a sorc's Acid sheath can do between 70 and 110 damage (highest i have seen could go higher possibly)

To clarify, every 5 skill points you put into your base tumble skill will boost your base AC by 1. Thus, at level 37, when you put your 40th skill point into tumble, your base AC will be increased by 8. Note that this applies to your base unmodified tumble score only....equipping yourself with +10 tumble items does NOT increase your AC, only your base skill amount.

I am amazed peeps stil put in sorc builds on this wizard build topic

The purpose of a wizard build over a sorc build is feats and focuses.
Not having a sorc build means no high Cha, or no need to pump it higher.

The odd class of a wizard makes less difference than any other base class of any build.

My choice would be a 38 wiz/2 monk (one level taken around 17th for AC to better survive, and the last at 40th)

Monk is chosen for the easy availability of monk armor, until you find better.

What good is acid sheath when you're dead 'cause of a poor ac?

Monk is mainly chosen for evasion even if actually in NS u can find lot of gear with improved evasion...having high saves with low HP and no evasion means death when fighting casters.

Well, now I understan what he is talking about. I thought he was refering to epic mage armor or something and was totally confused. If you have to rely on a poor AC and acid sheath spells to kill opponents, then perhaps you should re-think your build, in my opinon.

They are nice spells to have on you to aid you in your opponents down falls, but I never just sat there with low AC drinking potions while they wailed on me. Cheeze to the extreme if you ask me, again, in my opinon.

I went 38 wizard/1 paladin/1 monk myself and I find that very effective.

I did that build because, well.. it wasn't done before. At least from what I saw, and you know what? It is excellent. I can do the whole divine scroll thing, I have bonus to my saving throws. I dont have still spell, but I do enjoy the benefits from the mix of classes.
